Renzo Gracie X. Dan Henderson

I really admire Renzo for stepping up to the plate on this Henderson fight. After the Sakuraba loss, alot of guys would have done a few tune up fights to rebuild their record. Of course, when you're a Gracie, tune up fights dont' always go the way you want (Royce v. Wallid).
That said, I don't really see what Renzo can do to Henderson. Is Renzo going to pull off a sub with Henderson in his guard? I think Henderson is too smart and experienced for that. I also think that bjj fighters are too conserative to pull a spectacular sub a la Frank Shamrock against Kevin Jackson.
Henderson will control where the fight goes. Renzo will not be able to take Henderson down. The fight will only go to the ground if Henderson wants it to. Another disadvantage for Renzo.
On striking, Henderson has been tagged more than a few times. But Renzo's striking has never impressed me. He can flick a jab out, but I don't think anyone is too concerned.
All in all, I give it too Henderson by decision.

The Goes fight proves my point. Goes was ground 'n pounded when he had Henderson in his guard. He never came close to a submission.
Goes could not take Henderson down. Goes became so frustrated with this that he started butt flopping/scooting in overtime (butt scooting may have cost Goes the fight).
Henderson dominated the standing game. Goes did land a flash knock down. But Henderson was not hurt. Henderson neutralized Goes striking with Greco tie ups.
(Lets not get back into Goes foul of kicking a downed man. Rules are rules).

LMAO! oh well, there's no sense in arguing with a moron. you'll never win.
Anyway, my opinion on the fight is I have great fear Renzo may lose. He is by far my favorite fighter and grappler and I really admire him, even when he stepped on Spijkers neck. I didn't really care when he lost to Sak, because I thought that was a great fight. However, something tells me that if Dan Henderson wins, we'll have us a boring GnP. For that reason alone, I despise wrestlers in MMA. I guess BJJ guys are just as boring, but when you train in BJJ you understand the game better. Maybe if I was a wrestler, Dan Henderson and Kevin Randleman would be just as exciting as BJJ guys are to me now. Hopefully, Renzo pulls this off in spectacular fashion. If Sak beats Silva and Renzo beats Hendrson, maybe Renzo can get a rematch at Sak in the future...

henderson lost!!
Sorry to say... Goes beat him, all around....
Carlos Newton beat him worse...
Henderson is just a plain wrestler, he barley wins almost every fight he is in. He does not impress me, his style is mostly defensive.

Don't judge past fights
I really don't see either what Renzo can do to Henderson. What he WILL NOT do is knock him out! Renzo hasn't shown much in the way of punching!
Henderson CAN punch and he can TAKE a punch (this much has been proven as well)!
Renzo won't take Henderson down at all! Anyone believe otherwise?
The fight will remain standing likely! Henderson likes to keep a fight standing up, so I DON'T see it becoming a G-n-P fight! The victor will be the one who both controls the ranges and can strike better.
SO, considering all of that, who do you THINK the winner will be?
My guess is Henderson.

It amazes me that people think that someone "Needs Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills" to beat a Gracie.
Do you guys realize your own ignorance? Why must you use names (ie., Brazilian jiu-jitsu)? Do you not understand that grappling is just grappling?
Dan Henderson has GROUND GRAPPLING skills and I don't care what NAME you label those skills with.
Renzo really doesn't have great NHB skills and I believe once you watch the fight you WILL see what the hell I'm talking about.
Henderson is a MUCH, MUCH better fighter than Renzo Gracie could ever IMAGINE being!
I guess people just want to FANTASIZE though. That always happens. That's why people still talk about Rickson coming back and fighting.
Guys, Rickson isn't coming back and even if he does, he'll only fight washed-up Japanese Pro Wrestlers.
Give it a break with the Gracie stuff, Ok?!!
