  • Metzger on Igor v Tre

Sherdog's has an interview with Metzger in which he comments on the upcoming fight. He says he sees Tre going in to exchange with Igor and knock him out. Apparently Tre is a "true" heavyweight where as Igor is a blown up middleweight. Ummmm honeslty I haven't seen Trauma Tre fight, so I don't know about his punching power. But I find it highly unlikely he has what it takes to exchange with Vov. I thought possibly it could be a tactical ploy on the part of the Lion's Den, to put this game plan out there. Then I thought does it really matter either way?

Tre showed some real slugging power against Rizzo, but it was also clear he wasn't a great "boxer." You could gues that Rizzo would ride out the storm and wait for him to get punched out. Does Tre have the power to knock Igor out? Yes. Is this likely? I don't think so.

I agree, the way Tre handled Belfort who was another trumped up middleweight indicates he will do the same to itty bitty Igor.
Tre has a lot more KO power than Igor. You only have to compare their records to see this.

Also you have to remember that Tre might only weigh 220lbs but if he had two pecs he would weigh 240.
Therefore he is much heavier than Igor in theory.

Wow, I really do gotta big mouth! Tre pulled off the upset. This just shows why our sport is so great - it's so unpredictable. I'm getting this one on video.
