I had the great opportunity to train at the RCJ academy in Torrance Cali. this weekend! If any of you get the chance I would highly recommend checking this academy out. I practice BJJ on a very, very basic level and these guys were so patient and helpful.
We took a private with Roger and he was excellent. He is patient and very good at communicating the flaws in your technique both verbally and visually. It has to be one of the best hours of BJJ instruction available.
We also took a regular class which Rigan was teaching. I can only say that it should be outlawed to be that big/strong and that technical at the same time. He is leaving for Abu Dhabi on this Wednesday and I believe the competition had better be sharp!
We got to free roll with several of the guys there and the atmosphere was fabulous. Everyone was very talented and really great to work with. Good competitive environment, no ego's present and just a fantastic time to try stuff out and have other stuff tried on you.
If you have the time and opportunity while in SoCal check them out. I know it was worth the trip to me!
