Hey, just moved to melbourne, and have been browsing around a few MMA gyms in melbourne, and I was pondering whether you knowlegable bunch had heard anything one way or another about a couple I had in mind:
Melbourne Martial Arts
Melbourne Martial Arts Combat Centre
Dominance
DMMA: Dominance Mixed Martial Arts
Melbourne Martial Arts has alot going for it, reeeeally nice location (a block away from where I work), alot of equipment, and has a very nice selection of martial arts. One of the main things bringing me back to it is that they offer Kyokushin Karate - what I used too train in. I'm more looking at Muay Thai and BJJ, but it'd be nice to have kyokushin right there just incase I wanted belt out a few Osu's every now and then. The main thing turning me off it is that it seems like it could A) be pricey and B) be very mcdojo'y.
Dominance on the other hand seems like it has a less students (more attention), and has a really good BJJ foundation (apparently the most highly ranked Aussy in BJJ, 3rd Dan), and I have heard snippets of good things about them.
Ultimately I'm prolly just going to sit in on a class or so of each of them and see what I like - but any input you guys have would be thoroughly appreciated.
Cheers
