  • How to make mixed martial arts movie?

    Hi everyone,

At my high school, there's a program called International Baccalaureate (kind of like advanced placement) and to get the diploma, I need to get 50 hours of some sort of creative activity. I'm thinking about making a mixed martial arts movie? Any ideas about movie-making techniques? All I know so far is that in a martial arts movie the training sequence of the main character is as important as the fight scenes and that in movie fighting, its the person getting beaten up that's more important. Any ideas, suggestions, advice?

Yes, make sure to show yourself training, this helps hype the final fight. As for how you would set up the final fight, im not sure. Also, you want to hype up the main "villian" to make him seem unbeatable. (I always like an underdog story) There should also be some little fights in between with little side characters instead of one final fight, just to keep the viewer interested. Hope that helps a little.

Have a fight between the hero and the main villain early on and make sure the hero utterly gets his ass kicked.
Hero then gets trained by some wise old man using archaic medieval techniques. Hero doesn't understand old methods at first but is eventually able to use them against mini-villains, eventually building up to the finale.
