Hey, we haven't had a Gi question is a while, it used to be once a week.

Dude, it depends on how serious you are about training.
If you look at the BJJ tornaments, you will see a multitude of different brands and thickness of Gi's.

If you are serious, you should check out the HCK's. But as with any clothing, it will just depend on the fit of each Gi manufactrurer if they have the cut that fits you.

For the price I like the Ouano's, but barring price, an HCK is hard to beat.

Hey, get a single to train around in and get a double if you are serious about competing.........

Machado Kimonos DID NOT AND HAS NEVER gone out of business. There factory simply moved. A rep for Machado Kimonos is on www.intheguard.com and said that the gis will have better quality, a better collar, can come with patches, and they will be making a brand new golden weave.

I own an HCK, a Krugan, a Machado, and a crappy $40 Century judo gi. Personally I like the Krugan the best. Sorry Karl .

                  What?

I think that I would buy a Krugan last.

I have seen more Krugans' sleeves tear off than any other brand.
In fact, I haven't seen any other brand sleeve come off besides a Krugan.
E, I am glad that you like yours but like I said, there are plenty of other brands that I would buy before a Krugan.
when I first got into BJJ, seemed that lots of good dudes were wearing Krugans and so I wanted one, but good thing I waited, there are many others out now that are great.

hahahaha... you fat, transparent (you're that white) slob! hahahaha...!!!

well, sweep, you see, he has one of those japanese krugans that cost 28,000Y and are thinner than a HCK single. (hehehe) rip off city!!!

hey E... do you have one of those that we saw at that MA place we went to with okawa... where i got the patches and crap?

man, that krugans was one sad excuse for a gi.

why do you like it better??? just curious.

Do the Howard Standard and Competition single have that stitching strip on the back like the double does? And how does the Standard $70 single compare to Ouano's and Atama's $70 single's?

yes, the standard and comp singles have that stitching on the back. i think the standard is by far the best $70 gi out there. personally i think it's a higher quality and construction than the others you mentioned. another gi that impressed me was the kagi kimono. i got a chance to look at someone's, and it seems to be the exact same thing as howard's gi's before he introduced the new cut. anyone else see this as well?

                              Heavier Guys

What is the GI of choice for bigger guys. Im 6'1, 310 pounds and doubt i would fit into a regular large sized GI. Anyone have any suggestions?
