Josh Barnett off the card with Fedor

What do you guys think about Josh Barnett testing positive on his banned substance test?

I just read the story and read where Josh is pleading his case with the California Athletic Commision to test the other sample they have. They took two samples from him 3 weeks ago and tested one sample. The sample they tested came back positive. He is now pleading his case and saying that he did not do it.

My thoughts are... Dana White has struck again! I know that sounds crazy but just think about it for a mintue. Dana White has been saying ever since the Lesnar/ Mir fight that the UFC will have Fedor. That he WILL make that deal happen and Fedor will fight in the UFC. He has gone on and on saying that there will be a Fedor vs. Lesnar fight. If he is able to make that fight happen then that would be a HUGE fight for the UFC which would mean a very big payday for the UFC. A big payday in terms of attendance and ppv buys. Now, if Barnett and Fedor fight and Barnett wins thn Dana is pretty much screwed because that Fedor vs. Lesnar fight is not nearly as attractive since Fedor would be coming off a loss.

Dana is always saying that he has unlimited resources and he already thinks he is the god of MMA.

Not saying this is what happened but definately something to think about.

Come on Wild... why not...? We have conspiracy theories for everything else in life why not just bridge the gap now and have them in the world of MMA? LOL.

I did read today that it is possible for Josh to be re-instated and the fight still take place.

Well my conspiracy theory did not last long with this... dang it.. I was wanting to have a little fun. Oh well.

I am so disappointed with Josh over this. I just read where they found traces of an anabolic steroid in his urine test. Josh talked in his blog about how he did not know it was a random test. That he just thought it was a standard sample needed to get his license which is the norm. Come on man... you have already been busted once for this and you were stripped of your UFC title... are you really going to do it again...?!

I was so looking forward to this fight with him and Fedor... this screws up the entire show.

What other conspiracy theories can we start up?

Here's one I heard once: The one where the Gracies rigged the early UFC's so that they could market their GJJ so successfully?

Well I had heard that one years ago... never believed it. I do however think the Gracies did an Awesome job in the early UFC's to market their family's system... but not rigging the fights.

I do think its funny (fishy) how Affliction cancelled the entire event for August 1st and then announced Friday evening that they are now back together with the UFC. They are out of the fight business completely now and are focusing 100% on the clothing side of it. Man... that seems convenient for Dana and the UFC.

What happens to all the fighters who were under contract with Affliction? Do they now become fighters of the UFC? Or like most of the pride fighters are they just left out in the cold?

I do not want to see a Fedor vs Lesnar fight right away either. I am hoping that the plans stay the same. That the winner of the Carwin vs. Velasquez fight will fight Lesnar and then maybe look at having the Fedor vs Lesnar fight. I think Brock is a good fighter and that he is only getting better but I think he still needs more experience before fighting Fedor. Either way I think he will make for a tough fight. I just want him to have a little more experience before going against Fedor.
