  • Bjjexpertise's Amateur Debut in MMA!

Well I've been kinda out of the loop as far as the forum drama goes for a while, I've been training hard 7 days a week for this. I will be making my amateur MMA debut on saturday. I will be fighting at 147 pounds, weighins will be friday. It will be Three 3 minute rounds. I'm excited, I've been waiting for this day to come since they've announced the date.

My strongpoint going into this fight will most definitely be my grappling. My striking is still so-so and nothing to write home about as I've only practiced boxing/kickboxing for 2 months. Strategy would most definitely be to strike my way into a takedown and work a quick submission hold as 3 minutes goes by really quick.

Well gentlemen, that's what's up with me lately, hope the forum's still goign well.

PS: There will most definitely be a Judo throw in the fight, I promise you guys that .

Relax buddy! Let him come to you. I'm sure he'll be hungry to achieve HIS victory!

FLOW with him. TAKE his energy and reserve your own. NERVOUS much? DON'T BE!

This will be YOUR opportunity to demonstrate your flexibility. Adapt to his intent and apply your techniques with ease. Go fast and trap him with his own INTENT.

            Be like water!

And YES! I think we all want to see your performance!

            Video please? TY

Showed up and checked myself on their scale, it said i was a half pound over....I had to run around in the parking lot in a rain coat and sit inside a car with the heater on lol. I made weight though so we're on our way. I currently weigh 156.6. I met my opponent and he's taller and has longer reach than me but that's alright, I spar with bigger people all the time. Lets bring it on!!!

That was the most fun I've had in a long time! I was calm going into the fight, even stepping into the ring. I haven't worked on my striking well enough to rely and use it in this situation but it will definitely be worked on in the future. I'll just let you guys watch the fight and give your opinions on it. I'm the asian guy in red fight gear.
