    Watchman,
    I wasn't going to post it at KFO because it may heat things up to boiling, but since you suggested it, what the hell-ED

        Yeah, reality tends to do that sometimes.

        BTW, I thought the "John Marsh $5000.00 private lesson" comment in that post was pretty darn funny.

          call me crazy....but don't you think there could have been a 41 year old bjj student in there at the same or less weight, with the same or less physical conditioning, and it would have been the exact same result? it was a mismatch for sure, just looks like the same thing would happen in more even, or even lopsided conditions favoring the kung fu guy.

            OK, I'm going to stand up for 41 year old BJJ students everywhere(I'm thinking blue belt and up).

            1) They opt not to begin with a kick to the head (or whatever that was). This prolongs the fight by at least 10 seconds.

            2) They try for the guard as opposed to the eye gouge. Even if they can't get guard (and, my God man, at least get half guard if you are a blue belt), this prolongs the fight for at least 15 seconds.

            3) OK, so Marsh then gets cross side. Blue belt dude shifts right to releive the neck crank, left to avoid the keylock, back and forth back and forth. Another 25 seconds easy.

            4) Most importantly, blue belt dude knows a good keylock when he sees it and taps. He thus forgoes a damn mpeg broadcast everywhere in the universe with his arm going snap crackle pop.

            So, I'm thinking a fight twice as long with a dignified tapout.

            And if he's a Renzo purple belt, f'ing forget it, the fight is on and Marsh better watch his arms.

              Gin Sue Dog, great post.

              The question still remains;

              Why did the souped up VW try to take on a Mack Truck?

              Why does a part time Martial Artist with little or no full contact experience want to fight a 230lb Brown Belt in BJJ with regular sparring experience? Did he just want to blow $5000 or what?

                Shimora,
                That is something I am this working on, TMI just doesn't seem to get along with the other San Soo schools. So maybe they were trying to make a point, what is was I think got lost when there guy got his arm broken by John Marsh though.-ED
