  • OT: What is the BEST brand of high-end sunglasses?

    I want to spend about $200 - $300 on a pair of high-quality sunglasses.

I don't keep up with the latest brands and reviews in the magazines (Car & Driver, Men's Health, etc). Could any of you guy please help me by telling me what are considered to be the best brands nowadays?

    Gargoyles?
    Serengeti?
    Carrera?
    Bolle?
    Hobie?
    Ray-Ban?

I really don't know anything about these brands.

    Any help appreciated!!!

I like Ray Bans the best,

but it just depends on the shape of your nose, width of your head...........etc.

WHO ****ING CARES ABOUT SUNGLASSES! THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN YOUR MATERIAL POSSESIONS, INSTEAD OF WASTING THOUGHT ON THIS MAYBE YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT SOMETHING MORE ****ING IMPORTANT

              Well Patterson

The sun is very dangerous and good sunglasses are something I think everyone should have. I have a pair of Ray-Ban that I bought for about 90 bucks 4 years ago. They work great and have tolerated a lot of abuse. But If I had 300 bucks to spend on glasses I would go with Revo. Once you try a pair on and look into the sun you will be a worshiper.

                      shades

My shades just end up lost or broken so I don't bother to by expensive ones. If you feel the need for expensive shades just don't be the delusional guy tooling around in the Oakley blades thinking he is the shite.

JB - Try Maui Jim's... They are expensive but well worth the cost.

I'm extremely picky about sun glasses. Initially, I took the advice of Judo Guy and bought me a pair of Arnettes (or was it black flys?). I changed my mind, and when I tried to return the sun glasses, I was told I can't get cash back. I can get store credit. So I bought a pair of flip flops and got a $50 gift certificate which I tried to give to my sister for her birthday. When she rejected it, I gave it to my ex who was a surfer. She went for it since the gift certificates were from a surf shop.

Then I went to all kindsa sunglass places and couldn't pick anything. Cost wasn't an issue. So a couple of months ago, I got these gift certificates to Kenneth Cole. To my delight, I found the sun glasses I was looking for. It's weird because Kenneth Cole carries a limited selection of sun glasses, but you should check them out.

                            Mr. Bennett,

                            Science is pushed forward.

                            Zhoo,

Why anyone one would want to return a cool pair of Arnettes for some yuppie sunglasses from Kenneth Cole is beyond me. Besides, I didn't recommend you buy them, you asked me what kind they were.
