Through an in depth investigation I, joesondoe, have uncovered the truth of Gracie jiu-jitsu. The Gracie propaganda machine has claimed for decades that their art was adapted and developed from Kimura, a judo specialist, while living in Brazil. The fact is the Gracies are not even Brazilian. The Gracie clan are residents of Tijuana Mexico, where Helio and his family were jalepeno farmers. It is a well-known fact that Helio and his brothers would often illegally travel into Texas for seasonal work. It was during one of these trips that Helio worked for the legendary wrestling family, the
Von Eric's. Helio would quietly study the advanced techniques of the Von Erich's while cleaning the gym, and afterwards practice his new found knowledge with his brothers. Helio simply repackaged the moves with some minor adjustments, changing the names…"body scissors" became the "guard", "head scissors" became the "triangle" and so on. In fact there is a picture of Helio on the Gracie Miami web site doing a piss poor imitation of the Von Erich drop kick. The parallels are obvious to anyone not blinded by the Gracie mystique. Once they fully understood the art they could not then set up shop in Texas, everyone would recognize the cheap imitation. Therefore they moved up to Torrance where they began to perpetuate the myth of Gracie jiu-jitsu. The Gracies are much like the Japanese who steal our technological innovations and then repackage them to us, it is no wonder they are so welcome in Japan.
