  • Jiu-jitsu, an American Art??

Through an in depth investigation I, joesondoe, have uncovered the truth of Gracie jiu-jitsu. The Gracie propaganda machine has claimed for decades that their art was adapted and developed from Kimura, a judo specialist, while living in Brazil. The fact is the Gracies are not even Brazilian. The Gracie clan are residents of Tijuana Mexico, where Helio and his family were jalepeno farmers. It is a well-known fact that Helio and his brothers would often illegally travel into Texas for seasonal work. It was during one of these trips that Helio worked for the legendary wrestling family, the
Von Eric's. Helio would quietly study the advanced techniques of the Von Erich's while cleaning the gym, and afterwards practice his new found knowledge with his brothers. Helio simply repackaged the moves with some minor adjustments, changing the names…"body scissors" became the "guard", "head scissors" became the "triangle" and so on. In fact there is a picture of Helio on the Gracie Miami web site doing a piss poor imitation of the Von Erich drop kick. The parallels are obvious to anyone not blinded by the Gracie mystique. Once they fully understood the art they could not then set up shop in Texas, everyone would recognize the cheap imitation. Therefore they moved up to Torrance where they began to perpetuate the myth of Gracie jiu-jitsu. The Gracies are much like the Japanese who steal our technological innovations and then repackage them to us, it is no wonder they are so welcome in Japan.

The Gracie's never said that Kimura taught them. Count Koma tought the Gracie's. You are greatly misinformed.

The Gracie's never lived in Mexico. They were not farmers. They lived in Brazil.

Helio never learned moves in Texas from anyone.. The "guard" came from judo and the gracie's learned it from Count Coma.

You need to get your facts straight before you go spreading misinformation over the internet. You are just a catch as catch can wanna be who wants to belive Gracie Jiujitsu came from Catch as catch can.

              reply

-Mr. Steeles the Von Erich iron claw required great strength...srength that Helio obviously lacked. To make up for this Helio developed various "grips" dependent on what is now the "gi", and was at the time the "poncho". The raging bull Manny Fernandez was actually the first lucha libre fighter. A little known fact is that Manny's last name was not truly Fernandez, but Duarte. The "bjj" v. lucha libre feud began in Texas when Helio, obviously using Von Erich wrestling, beat & humilated Manny for stealing his chalupa.

-John Bennet it is obvious that you are in the inner circle of trust with the Machado family. Remember once you are outside the circle there is no coming back in!

-Don Dio if you think trying to play off the Gracie fraud as a joke is going to work you should think again. Catch as catch can will not be denied. I am bridging even now as I type this message.

No, BJJ is actually a form of Chinese Kung Fu. Here is the story:The real name for Brazilian JuJutsu is actually Bai She Qin Na Fa, or White Snake Seizing/controlling method. The art was first developed by a Taoist monk who made his way through Southern China into Cambodia. During his travels, he saw a Tiger attack a large Python. He was surprised when he saw the Python wrap around the Tiger, pull it to the ground and constrict it to death. He returned to Wudang mountain and meditated on what he had seen. After 20 years the true essence of the system was revealed to him in a dream.

The art was kept a close secret for over 500 years until a master by the name of Cho Kyu came across a group of soldiers trying to have their way with a beautiful young woman. She wrapped her legs around the soldier and hung on to him like that for 10 hours until her family came looking for her. As she was a women, the other soldiers would not attack her. Nor could they mount her as she had the first soldier on top of her "guarding" her Jade Treasures.

After the soldiers were killed by the woman's family, the monk came out of hiding. The explained that he hid only because it was a little known secret that No One could defeat more than one attacker. He figured that the soldiers would simply rape the girl and leave. That is why he hid. However, he was intrigued with the woman's guard technique and begged to learn her secret. The woman taught him the guard while he in turn taught her his locking method. At this time, Bai She Qin Na Fa became a complete system. It was considered disgraceful by the Chinese of the day to roll on the ground with other men. So it was taught to woman as they could not handle the rigors of the more popular striking arts of the time.

The art developed in secret this way for 700 years until one day, a ***** Brazilian teen ager came to China on vacation. Noting the beauty of the young women (as well as being a notorious horn dog in his native Brazil) he decided to ambush one of the women by the creek. As he jumped on his prey, he was surprised to find himself in the vicelike grip of her legs. In less than a minute she had broken both of his arms and choked him unconscious. The man stayed around the village and secretly learned the women's superior martial art.

The man then returned to Brazil and demonstrated to his family what he learned. Of course, they asked him where had learned the art. As he was supposed to have been in Japan studying the whole time he could not tell the truth. He said the first thing that came to his head JUDO

And now.........for the rest of the story!
Cho Kyu was indeed the one who brought the womens form of martial arts to Brazil. She then made friends with a woman who was married to Carlos Gracie. She in turn tried to teach the system to her sisters and friends. At first they were rather inapt at what they were doing. But,after time they became confident enough to try thier technique on men.It didnt go as planned.
After wrapping thier legs around Carlos and holding him there for ten hours each and every one of the women became pregnant.
While they gestated for 9 months,it gave them time to think about what was wrong with the technique. It was decided between the women that they would teach the children thier art and see if they could improve appon it.They had one child who just would not stay on the diaper changing table. He kept rolling off. So,they named him Rolls. This they decided, was who they would teach to.All the other children would be taught judo.
But,Rolls was a mischevious boy and would use the techniques he was taught against his brothers.Naturally they picked it up through repetition.Soon the whole family was claiming they invented the art that was taught to the women. The women then were kept out of view so to perpetuate the Gracie's claim of invention.Carlos in the mean time had secretly been watching and learning. All the while he was challanging people publicly to test what his wife was teaching him.The women were kept in the home and not allowed to know anything of his claim on the art they taught him.Carlos had also changed a few of the moves.Originaly ,holding a man in guard and using your heel to pound on his kidney was a form of birth control. But after ten hours,Carlos had a big bruse on his back and decided to turn it into a self defense technique.Since he wasnt worried about getting pregnant. As a matter of fact,he wasnt worried about anyone getting pregnant. So,Carlos then began teaching what he was calling Gracie Jiu Jitsu to other women who became pregnant do to the changes in technique. And that is how the whole Gracie family and gracie Jiu Jitsu came to be. The End.
