  • malicous take downs

I know everyone trains to take down people clean and hard, and on occasion you'll see a take down incapacitate a guy (Shamrock Tito, etc..). However I don't think many guys train take downs in such a way as to cause the most damage on purpose. I mean once you have a guy lifted, it's up to you how to put him down....his head, shoulder, back etc.. What do you think of training take downs in such a way as to optimize the damage done...dislocated shoulders, concussions etc..??

Try a Judo tournament sometime......there are guys there that throw you to prefer to ensure that you WON'T be getting back up.

I would think the whole idea to NHB/MMA is to end the fight as quickly as possible. If you can pull that off with a throw props to Frank and Tito......it's a rough sport.

Couldn't that cause serious PERMANENT injury?

Yes, it could lead to permanent injury. But noone at that level is reallt untrained enough to just go down without moving.
If your moving around while being taken down, the fist in the back will never be able to harm you in that way.

A lot of people laugh at the stories of old martial artist being able to kill with one punch. But do you realize what a left hook from a heavyweight boxer would do to you or me?

I never thought boxing was that powerful until I got rocked by a boxer. After that, I was just amazed any fight could go longer than two rounds.

What about those WWF takedowns? I used to think that supplex's were fake and only worked in fake pro wrestling. But then i saw Dan Severn use supplex's in NHB.

What about pile Driver's? Could they be used in a real fight too?

                    What about power bombs?

Could any of these be pulled off with results?

A good suplex can grind someone into the ground and do some serious damage. Another possibility is throwing the person and letting go of them mid-air. With a little tweaking, you can drop someone on their head, shoulder, etc. I doubt you'd be able to do this without practice and without anyone to practice with, you're wasting your time thinking you can do it.

Just imagine what landing in the parking lot or the sidewalk would feel like!

We have throws that can be used to drop someone on the back of their neck, or on their collar bone. Game over baby....

Fortunately, we don't teach these until a student reaches the black belt levels.

And I'm only a brownee, so no soup for me.
