    Wrist Locks

Here's some moe fuel to add to the fire:

I seem to get caught in overpowering wrist locks. If Keylocks aren't bad enough by powerlifters, you can imagine the guy giving 100 percent of his powerlifting mentality to my fragile wrist!

How do you guys defend against this? This often happens in combination with armbar setups but at times they just go for it alone. If i don't tape within like 1-2 seconds I fear my wrist will be broken. I mean some of the powerlifers i train with reason intend to break bone when they grapple!

All the other advise sounds like typical Bjj stuff?
I would have to say at this point that you should open your wallet and pay for privates.
Either that,or just be patient and keep training.
Have you asked your instructor what to do?

        Guardmaster,
Your concerns are mostly of an early white belt nature. I remember when you came on here with the philosopy that training all the positions in bjj wasn't necessary, that you would only train guard, and therefore be much better than anyone else at guard as a result. Eventually, you can become like a Barret Yoshida if you want, but you have to drill the basics for a while like everyone else. Even someone as overpowering as Ricco Rodriguez confessed that he had to tap to people right and left when he first started working with the Machados. Guys that use power to get kimuras and other subs against you will definitely not be able to do that to you after you've been training hard for a year. Most bjj schools have an inspiring skinny wimpy looking guy that is really good. Just keep training and don't worry about having to tap out to your partners, it's part of training.
        Good luck and patience!
