Headlock on Dogs (Plus, attention: Pit Dog)

I put a sweet guillotine on a huge Rhodesian ridgeback this weekend (just playing around). Man, there was no place for him to go, and he knew he was in trouble. My question is this: why wouldn't this work on a pit bull?
