Who do you think, pound for pound are the top 3 fighters now?
I would have to go with:
    Vitor Belfort
    Sakuraba
tie between Tito Ortiz and Royce Gracie(hasn't fought lately but still rules!)- if these two fight it would be interesting- I think Gracie would win, much more skilled.

You ask for best three and post 4?

      Let's see

All I know is that Jens Pulver ith a smartath and hath been thinth high thcool.

Josh Barnett drinks the blood of his fallen enemies.

      Seriously though

I would least like to fight Tank Abbot, Frank Shamrock, and Pat Miletich. They may not be the "best" fighters, but I think they bring in an attitude of hurting their opponents.

Did I ask who YOU would least like to fight? You think you could beat anyone that has been in the UFC? Apparently you dont know what a tie means, that is why I wrote a TIE between two fighters for 3rd place. Tank is an out of shape fat ass and Pat would get his ass handed to him by any of the fighters I listed, as would tank-Shamrock is great-way above Tanks level.

          A thousand pardons

I thought when you said three, you meant 3, but what you really meant was put down as many fighters as I wanted as long as I only listed three spots. So if I tied (and I did look up the word 'tie', thanks for the heads up BTW) the top fighters would be Ortiz, Randy Couture, Newton, Pulver since those are the guys that actually retain (UFC) titles at the moment.

Then for second place I would tie Frank Shamrock to BJ Penn with a slip knot (oh, sorry, wrong usage of the word tie.) And circle things up with Sakabura.

And finally, for third place I would have to go with Steve Jennum because he is such a badass ninja. He holds third place all by his lonesome for being the most devastating fighter the UFC has ever known.

As for me fighting these guys, no I don't think that's going to happen any time soon as I have become accustomed to eating solid food. Hypothetically speaking, WERE I to be a fighter in the UFC or Pride I would not want to fight the three I listed above. But since YOU weren't asking ME for who I would fight, and I CAN'T retract my previous statements I guess that I will just apologize for pissing in your post toasties and ruining this very popular thread that everyone else on the board is just dying to jump into.

(deep breath) FURTHERMORE I thought I was being humerous and would try to entertain you with some witticism that I picked up in the cafeteria, but YOU would have NONE of it. So next time please spell these things out more clearly (and please to use the smaller words) so I can draft answers more to your liking.

          Thanks

              top three

my top pick would have to be ortiz (not belfort, because i don't think he can beat tito, but tito has the weapons to beat vitor) as he is the ufc light heavyweight champ and is pound for pound as good as anybody right now. number two would be sakuraba who has proved his ability time and time again although he lost to silva i don't think he would lose again. and to round it out i would have to go with heath herring who is quickly becoming the best fighter in the world and quite possibly could be unbeatable before long, i mean it's hard enough finding guys his size with any submission skills much less good enough striking to go stand up with him after going to the ground. Now this assesment is of course looking at pound for pound not the three best in the world who would probably all be heavyweights. I'm sure nowhere near fighting any of these guys myself but i wouldn't be as afraid of milletich as almost anyone else. just my opinion thanks

                I would say

                Tito,Frank,Coleman...
                maybe Silva and Rizzo..

                As for Sak....
I wouldn't say Sak has proven anything but that he beat 3 Gracies ....wouldn't other top ranked fighters beat the guys Sak has?.....I think so.....sorry hard-core Gracie fans....but I dont think beating Renzo,Royler and Ryan in NHB makes you a top ranked fighter...
in a grappling match..sure!....but not NHB...

I do think Sak has great skills....but he faced a true NHB'er in Silva and got beaten....

ok just so we get our facts straight, let's go over sakuraba's wins....
                  Marcus "Conan" Silveria (arm bar)
                  Vernon "Tiger" White (arm bar)
                  Carlos Newton (arm bar)
                  Vitor Belfort (decision)
                  Ebenezar Fontes Braga (armlock)
                  Anthony Macias (armbar)
                  Hoyler Gracie (kimura) TKO
Guy Mezger (forfeit) (i think it was called because Ken Shamrock came in the ring)
Hoyce Gracie TKO (threw in the towel) (sak handed him his ass)
Henzo Gracie TKO (kimura) (it was sick)
Shannon "the cannon" Ritch (heel hook)
                  Hyan Gracie (decision)
                  Quinton Jackson (rear naked choke)

These results were obtained from a reliable website.
His only two losses were to igor vovchanchyn (after fighting hoyce for 90 minutes) and Silva (after the rules changed to suit strikers with knees)

Every one of these guys has a reputation as a respectable if not fantastic fighter. And most of these guys have tremendous record.

NOT BAD FOR A PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER, huh?

                    Royce Gracie

                    What are you kidding me?

Anyway I'd have to go with me, myself, and I.

If your trying to say that sak didn't hand royce his ass then your tripping. i would have liked to have seen royce fight igor after that fight, do you think he would've gone twenty minutes w/o getting ko'd i think not. igor would've killed him. he was exhausted, frustrated, and broken. He had nothing left and sak had plenty. you could have put ryan in there after royce quit and sak would have beaten him too.
