    Are really champions NHB fighters?
Anybody is or was Olympic level in wrestling-Judo-Boxing.-
Anybody was European-American-World champion in Thai boxing or Sambo.-
So is it true that you don't need to be excellent but it's enough to wrestle, kick and punch normally.-
    Do you have names?

    hmmmm...

    kevin jackson = US wrestling
    randleman = US wrestling

that's all i know... i think they were both on the us olympic team. i think one won gold and the other silver.

otherwise, just as with the other disciplines, MMA/NHB is a much different combat animal than the single discipline competitions. you need a lot more than to just be masterful in one discipline if you want to be successful in today's game.

i don't think it's enough to have "normal" kicking, punching and grappling skills to be successfull in NHB. you have to be good at all of them and probably great in at least one of them.

    TRAIN ON!

    k~

I'm agree with you...in any case it's difficult to find a really big champ coming from one of these disciplines

That is so true! Train at all of them, but "specialize" in one major discipline! That will assure optimal performance!

A NHB heavyweight fighter can resist 30 seconds against TYSON in a boxing match, the same time against HOOST in a Thai boxing match and 1 minute against the gold Olympic medal in freestyle wrestling.-
Against a Judo Olympic champion? Not many seconds.-

Where is a good place to train NHB/Submission grappling in Milano? I'm coming to Italy October 13th to teach a seminar and
            train.

I think that being an excellent athlete can make a lot of difference if your skill level is low.
Frank Shamrock beat Kevin Jackson in thirty seconds i think.
Wrestlers have an advantage because of their takedowns, ability to defend takedowns, strength, and solid base, (core strength affects everything).
Mikey Burnett was a power lifter and is as strong pound for pound as anyone.
Tito Ortiz, Chuck Lidell, Dan Henderson, Mark Coleman, Mark Kerr, Heath Herring, these guys were all wrestlers.
A lot of martial artists have skill but no athleticism because they don't put in the work. You have to have be a professional athlete to compete at the top level these days, if not your going down.
