According to some reliable sources on the UG, the next Pride line-up will feature Sak vs. Shannon "the cannon" Ritch. What a murdering this is going to be. LOL. I guess Sak just wants a break from fighting A and B level fighters.

Rodrigo Gracie beat "The Cannon" in 13 seconds with a flying arm bar in May. That Cannon shoots blanks.

That will very fun to watch Sak's Pro Wrestling moves. He usually always fights the best fighters. This will be his first tomatoe can fight. Even Anthony Macias is better than Shannon "The misfire loose cannon" Ritch.
Sakuraba is definatly the fighter of the year IMO. Renzo Gracie is not far behind him.

yes, sakuraba does always fight a level fighters, but letes not forget that there is always the chance that the "cannon" can pull off an upset. now i this is highly unlikey, but it can happen, as anyone at anytime can be beaten.. but if this does happen, i hope everyone doesnt start ranting and raving about how crappy sak is and how he has no heart or aura or whatever.. because he fights a few times a year, thats quite a lot of times for the level of competition he faces, so that brings up his cahnces of being beaten.
it doesnt matter if he getes beaten, because hes proven that hes willing to fight almost anyone

I totally understand Sak needing a break from the A list. But I would like to see him fight somone we have heard of. If I hadn't seen him in May I would never have heard of the Cannon. Couldn't Sak fight Shonie Carter or Eugene Jackson or someone along those lines. Each guy should be an easy victory for Sak. And he would still be fighting a good fighter.

Believe it or not, John Lewis was approached about a possible fight w/ Sakuraba. Now that matchup would be laughable.

It sounds like DSE is intent on getting a light opponent for Sakuraba in Pride 11. I wonder why. A possible matchup w/ Rickson down the line?

John Lewis would be a much better fight than Shannon Ritch. Did Lewis turn them down? Was a real offer made? This would be a real opportunity for John I would be surprised if he turned Pride down.

I agree about the sak fight,nothing against Rich,he obviously can promote himself because I know about his claims of being a three time world champion in a nonexistant organization and his ludicrous other claims of being a muay thai world champion and shootfighting. He also has claimed to have a fighting record that only his losses and few of his wins can be verified. I think he is very fortunate that pride has this type of "cannon fodder" mentality in their events. Really he cant lose,sure he will lose to sak,but no matter what, he can always say he fought against very well known opponents..he can also say he lost to Rodrigo Gracie in thirteen seconds.

John Lewis is good but he's lighter and less cunning that Saku. Not only lighter, but his body mass is less and he shouldn't fight Sak.

Kazushi is one of my favorite fighters, but I'm guessing that 1. He is maybe taking a rest from the top A fighters he keeps beating, or 2. Pride wants to maybe draw more attention to other fights other than his.
Personally, if I had beaten all these big names, I'd think of retireing just so I could say I did and not run the risk of getting beat haha

ha thats funny...I think of all people sak's opponent must be doing this for free or paying Pride to do this....how in the hell do you get someone of his caliber over the top fighters out there? I dont have anything against him except his propensity to exaggerate his background,but he must be happy to get an opportunity to be in the same building...later
