  • Jeremy Glick--American Hero and judoka

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to post this link to a story about Jeremy Glick. He was one of the men who took action against the terrorists on UA Flight 93. He was a judoka from New Jersey.

May God have mercy on his soul and grant him everlasting peace.

CNN is reporting about the phone call Glick made to his wife. He informed her of the hijacking and that the hijackers had stabbed 3 attendents and 1 passenger. He asked if it was true about the WTC (someone else had recieved the info on their cell phone), and when she confirmed it, he talked with the other passengers for a minute, got back on the phone and said; "honey, a group of us are going to fight them....I'll be right back."

I read the story yesterday and was very uplifting and of course sad.

Those guys were definitely heroes and most likely saved thousands of lives.

America needs more men like these!

From all the tragedy, stories of heroism and good deeds rise up to give us hope and inspiration..............

It is noted that Jeremy and others will receive the highest civilian awards for their bravery.

Their actions should be an never forgotten for their sacrafices were great.

I read that Jeremy was a new father, 3 month old baby girl.

Well, we know now that 2 of the Americans who were going to "fix" the situation of Flight 93 were some pretty sizable and tough fellas:

            Mark Bingham - a 6' 5", 230lb., former Collegiate Rugby player.

            Jeremy Glick - a 6' 2", 220lb., Collegiate Judoka.

I can only imagine that the hijackers got a serious, good old fashioned, American ass whoppin' before they went down.

The word "BRAVE" is an understatement for these gentlemen that participated... may these Americans always be remembered for their actions.

Just received news that there is a fund set up for Jeremy Glick's daughter. Here is the info from the news list at the USJI.

A fund has been set up for Emerson Glick, daughter of Jeremy and Lyzbeth.

To donate to her fund, checks can be made out to:

                    Emerson Glick
                    c/o Merrill Lynch
                    P.O. Box 911
                    Windham, NY 12496

The e-mail did not state any info regarding the tax deductibility of any contributions

I just watched the highlights of Pres. Bush's speech and saw that one of our hero's wife was in attendance and recognized.

Does anyone know who's wife that was?

These guys were warriors, like in war when a guy would throw himself on a grenade to save the lives of others.

I am going to donate to the fund for the kids of these heroes.

May their spirit always be an inspiration for others.........

                            True heroes.

Anyone know of a charitable org that goes straight to victim's children for their future. My company does corporate matching so it would have to be an "actual" charitable org.
                            Thanks.
