Skulbus, you couldn't be more right. This world would definetly be a better place if people would stop worshipping gods and realize the truth. The truth is that religeon is a creation of man. Until about one and a half years ago I was a Christian. Then I took some western religion classes and became educated about theologies. I realized that my religion wasn't anything special and that people all over the world had created their own religions as well. It was like the scene in the Matrix where Neo is offered the two pills, one where he awakens and is taught the truth, and the other pill that would cause him to continue to believe the falsehoods of the Matrix. I choose to be awakened and not believe in some story created more than 2000 years ago.

First of all Darwin's theory was always that, just a theory. Secondly the point is that science has come to a point where the theory has more holes in it then when it was first stated. Chemical, biological and archeological evidence rather than supporting his theory have eaten away at it. That is not a lie but a fact.
Hound dog if you want to make criticisms then at least read a little first. It takes no inteligence or preperation to sit back and make off the cuff critiques. That's why it's the favorite activity of undisciplined children and unaccomplished men.
For those of you who keep stating the mantra that belief in God is the reason for war. Know this, there has been 10 x more blood shed by countries whose belief system is that there is no God. Mao, Stalin and Mussolini all put into practice exactly what you're espousing. So instead of attacking Christianity let me here your defense for humanism in action. Back up your claim with actual historic evidence that your philosophy would work.

It's one thing to be in a religon, most of America claims to be "Chrisitan". But a true Christian is one who has a personal relationship with Christ. If you can't say you ever had a first hand intimate relationship with God then it seems you were just "going to church". It's not a dry theological study, and if that's what you were taught they didn't get it from scripture. The whole point of salvation throughout the Bible is that God wants that intimate relationship with us. He dies to remove the barrier between us and him.

Just like Chinese use Chopsticks and speak Chinese, an American speaks English and uses a knife and fork. It's part of your culture. You can't pick who your parents are. You can't pick what color you are. You can't pick what language you're going to learn first and you can't pick what religion your parents will teach you. You will believe what your parents tell you and teach you as well as learn from the circumstances of your environment and upbringing.

All cultures have their own interpretation of DIVINE POWER and how humans and this DIVINE POWER relate to each other and the universe. It would appear that with most of these religions, the universal theme we find is peace and cooperation among mankind.

being a buddhist (somewhat), i believe in reincarnation... if you live a good life and do your best to bring good and joy to the world, respect your parents, help others when you can, and live your life as a decent human being, God will let you go to heaven... heaven is essentially coming back to a good life... it could mean happy, healthy and wealthy... if you were an evil person, you would come back to your next life as a dog or crack addict or some other horrible shit.

but that's just my own personal opinion and in no way would I suggest anyone to subscribe to the hot russian bikini babe God theory and convert, unless they really wanted to... if you do, you all should listen to me because I'm his #1 homie!

Actually it’s not a fact. Oh maybe Christen Science says that Darwin’s theories are full of holes but real scientists know that Darwin is right on the money and that the Big Bang is becoming less of a theory and more of a reality.

Way back in 1953 Stanley Miller, A graduate student at University of Chicago, was conducting experiments based off of the idea that there was only oxygen in the water of pre-life Earth. He boiled the water and then shot electricity though the vapor. When thing dried out there was a small amount of residue on the glass. This residue turned out to somehow be organic and was the four basic building blocks of DNA. Here is a link to a more complete story. But be careful boys this is fact and not religious propaganda.

This also isn’t true. There has never been a country were there was not something worshiped as a deity. Stalin, Mao, and Mussolini all had enormous egos and thought that they were above normal people. And the countries worshiped them as such. Perhaps there was once a truly atheist based culture but I am sure it was wiped out so that “civilization” could be brought to the heretics.

You are right in one thing though: I have no evidence that my philosophy would work because it has never been tried and recorded. But I have a couple thousand years worth of history demonstrating the brutality and strife that religion brings.

Actually it is a fact that Darwin's theory remains just that. It is also a fact that most hard scientist both Christian and secular no longer support the theory, while many social sciences do. It is illogical to conclude that because a scientist is of the Christian faith, or any faith, that he is not interested in discovering scientific truth. Dismissin someone becaue they're of a particluar faith is bigotry.
One of the largest holes in Darwinian theory is the fact that by their own theory Darwinist can not explain the development of any complex organ such as the eye. They say through natural selection that traits which were not beneficial would be discarded, while at the same time saying it took hundreds of thousands if not millions of years for the eye to develop. Well an eye is not beneficial unless it's 100% developed. So why would a non beneficial organ (and at that point not even an organ) continue to develop? If everything is spontaneous generation and happen stance then it could not have been developing toward the end result. In short they have never been able to solve this problem.
The fosssil record also fails to support Darwin. He said himself the only thing that would support his theory would be the uncovering of transitional fossils (fish to bird, ape to man). However as the secular president of the Smithsonian Institute pointed out there has been no fossil evidence that would support Darwin. It appears all fossil records show the major species appearing fully formed, with no transitional evidence.
Just to clarify no one disputes microevolution, small changes and adaptations within a species, but macroevolution, showing one species evolving into another has no support whatsoever.
Finally it is a fact that in Russia and China humanism was the national religon. It was indeed against the law to worship any deity and those who did were persecuted and killed, and still are in China. Government policy allowed for no religous influence whatsoever. Simply because these men had enourmous egos has nothing to do with the fact that they had rid their societies of religon and religous influence. They were in fact atheistic societies, that is simply a historical fact. That they had a small number of believers manage to survive is irrelevant to the national standard.

Just so you know, China is no longer persecuting and killing people if they practice religion. in fact, there are churches here in beijing where i live. on a whole, most chinese are buddhists, although there are a fair number of christians now as well... many of them are from Korea.

China has never been an atheistic society... not in it's 5000 years of recorded history.

'Darwin's Black Box'. I'm not saying with all this that creationism is a fact. It definitly requires a measure of faith. But if you read an opposing view to the Darwinian theory we've been feed as truth all of our lives,you'll see it requires an equal or greater measure of faith.

I hope what you say is true. However the Chinese government have said before that they now allow people to worship. BUT the catch is it has to be in a gov't approved church. In most of these churches, be it Buhdist, Christian or whatever if there is a teaching found that they feel undermines their authority or doctrine they edit it out. Also if groups of believers choose to meet on their own in non-approved meetings, especially in rural areas they are subject to arrest and beatings. Mao was an atheist and did indeed enforce atheist doctrines and persecute believers. While many believers continued and spread the Word, his official government position was atheism.

The official stance of the Chinese Government is basically you can do whatever you want as long as you don't usurp the rule of the communist party, which is obviously a bummer policy.

However, Mao wasn't always an atheist. Mao's only child, his son, was killed in war and he became a cold-blooded man after the death of his son... He was never the same way again...

I think many of his erroneous thinking later on in his life was dramatically affected by losing his son.

I am saying that it is in christen science's best intrest to disprove evolution; by any means possible.

Well evolution is still a new science. Since it takes many years to prove that a new species can be formed this isn't a good example. I feel as though you are trying to back up your arguments with large vocabulary and Christen science propaganda.
