Ki is very powerful, no doubt. Simple disengagement of the mind is a great way of dealing with pain. Hey, I saw "Bloodsport"! But it's very difficult to achieve this level of 'ki skill'.
Peyton Quinn or Tony Blauer should form a workshop inviting all people of all arts to come test what they have in the stress/fear training they offer. Broadcast on cable PPview, and see how effective various arts really are against determined "Bulletmen" in simulated 'reality' situations.
It would also be interesting to see the manner in which novice practicioners and black belts behave.
Alas, I don't ever see this happening... and don't give me that crap about "the UFC or Pride" already does this....
