those corporations you're talking about just want to make money. creating value - that's what these corporations do. they create value (perceived value in most cases) for their product...
Nobody needs to drink Coca Cola to live. Water is perfectly acceptable... but why is that us Americans can't live without it? COKES are a part of American culture! Commercials influence your thought, your peers influence your thought... and Coca Cola NEEDS to make profits in order to please their shareholders... Their shareholders demand it. Why? It's called capitalism. Somehow, I don't think that COCA COLA'S majority shareholders are AFGHANS or PALESTIANS.
Why spend huge amounts on advertising? Why have rockstars and professional athletes appear in your commercials? Why spend bajillion dollars on such a large campaign? To SELL SELL SELL... Why would COCA COLA sell COKES to peoples and countries that hated AMERICANS? Coca Cola could stop doing it. Why don't they? It's called capitalism...

face it you guys... our country doesn't belong to us anymore. it belongs to people with money, because they have the power over the little guy. they've got money. they also believe that because they own it... then they should control it... but it's true... if you own your own business, you should control it anyway you want... it's a free, capitalistic society, isn't it? that's what big businesses do... unfortunately, the same theory applies for politicians... if you own a politician, then you also control the politician...
in a capitalistic society, MONEY TALKS and BULLSHIT WALKS... Whoever says otherwise would be lying. That's what it's about in our country! capitalism is great because it gives society freedom to make their own choices... you can be as wildly successful as you want to be, or as lousy as you want... it's up to you. it also happens to be the perfect breeding ground for WASTE & GREED. Listen, I've read a lot of your posts about politics. You get really worked up over this stuff.
Your point about GM, Duponts, and coke is well taken.
I thought I was listening to Ralph Nader for a minute. lol
However, I believe that your words fall on deaf ears. There are political forums out there that would be much more suited to your needs.
Please don't misunderstand me. I am not saying that you are doing a bad thing by posting those political posts.
I am saying that you are getting upset and worked up over nothing, and what you write, is going way over people's head.
If you like, feel free to email me. Perhaps I can recommend some sites which you'd find much more appealing to your tastes as far as politics go.

I'm not encouraging people to think like me. In fact, I'm full of shit. Don't take my word for it. Find out for yourself. I am encouraging people to USE THEIR OWN BRAIN. Learn more about how our country really operates. Who owns it? Who controls it? Let people come to their own opinions. If it's one thing us Americans love, it's to find out the truth... Americans are smart and resourceful, and we won't be deceived for too much longer.

What up man, long time no hear... thought you disappeared from the forum.
1. If I understand you correctly, you're saying that GREED is intrinsic in humans, and that humans are basically greedy, correct? It's got nothing to do with the environment in which they grow up in, right? It's got nothing to do with their surroundings and society as a whole? You're saying that humans are basically GREEDY from the time they are born, right? I want to make sure I'm understanding you correctly.
Just so you know, I'm not a greedy guy. At least I don't feel I'm greedy. I've got morals and ethics. In fact, I don't feel that GREED is an intrinsic human instinct. I feel basically that man is good. Think about it... for man to evolve and survive, man has to cooperate with each other. Man has to learn how to work as a team... because it is impossible for man to solve all problems by himself. In order to survive, man has no choice but to cooperate. Man has learned that over millions of years of evolution...
Unless you believe in creationism... which means that we were all created GREEDY? Why would God make us GREEDY? Or am I misunderstanding you? If humans are basically greedy from birth, then it doesn't matter what religion they are. They can be Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or Jewish. It wouldn't matter what form of government - it could be capitalism or communism... If everyone is so greedy, then why is Israel receiving DISPROPORTIONATE sums of money... Everyone is GREEDY, right?
So COCA-COLA is a greedy company. They have the power not to sell their cokes to AMERICAN-BASHING nations. Yet why do they continue? Because they can... They have the FREEDOM to do just that, in a capitalistic society...
2. Using China as an example... Everyone in China has the power and opportunities to work their way up to a better position as well. What's different is how they work their way up. In a "communist society" first you have power, then you have money. In a "capitalist society" first you have money, then you have power. Can't have one and not the other... Power and wealth are always intertwined.
3. The United States didn't get to be the most powerful nation on earth by being the church alterboy. Special interests and big business are already raping AMERICANS on our own soil... I'm not shouting ANTI-AMERICAN propoganda... I'm shouting PRO-AMERICAN PROPOGANDA. Because I disagree with a bunch of corporate businesses and special interest groups makes me ANTI-AMERICAN? Come on now, surely you're not trying to suggest that these businesses and special interest groups are looking out for you and me... How many crooked politicians are there in Washington? Do you even know? I don't... but I'm willing to bet that because of the "human condition", there sure are quite a few bad apples sitting on capital hill.
If these businesses and special interests have absolutely no qualms about raping you or me, why would they care about NON-AMERICANS.
But have no fear! As I mentioned before, AMERICANS are a smart bunch, and we will expose the truth soon enough... Just be patient Q, it will all bring itself to light in due time... The only thing that sucks is that it had to claim 6000 innocent lives before people were ready to get involved!
4. As for expansionist behavior... I don't know why you would even bring this up. Only the United States of America has AMERICAN military stationed in just about every single corner of the world. No other nation in the world has so much military might stationed all over this planet.
5. I never subscribed to the "leftist" theory you mentioned. It's not about "left" or "right". All countries have their problems and faults. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Fortunately for myself, I've been able to live in both the west and the east for rather long periods of time, and can look at both sides, for the most part, with objectivity. There are many things in the EAST which are far from perfect. There are many things in the WEST which are far from perfect. But both sides should take the opportunity to learn from each other, the good will always be good... the bad will always be bad... doesn't matter if it's from the east or the west...
6. What is the truth in combat? As Bruce Lee once said, retain what is useful and reject what is useless... but before you reject what is useless, you must understand why it is useless... The same should be applied for government, not just combat...
7. I have examined the leftist view and I will be the FIRST TO ADMIT, it is far from perfect. Now that we've cleared that out of the way, can you do the same thing?
8. All the information I've provided has been based on historical and statistical FACT. I have never tried to mislead anyone or cover anything up. If you don't believe me, I don't care. It's your fault you choose to stay uninformed. It's your fault you choose to stay apathetic. It's you who's going to suffer in the end.
It just makes me feel good to know that there are other people out there, who might have at one time been apathetic, that are now becoming more aware of how our government is run and how are media is controlled. These are all facts. This isn't a big secret or anything. People in government will even tell you that this is how our US government works. They might conveniently leave out names of persons or businesses or special interest groups, but it doesn't take a genius to find the information and it doesn't take a genius to put 2 & 2 together. Afterall, the info can all be found on public record... just got to do a bit of digging... but it's all right in front of your eyes... it's as plain as day.Comment
