The Buddha was asked, "Are you God?"
      "No," he answered.
      "Well, then, what are you?"
      "Awake," said the Buddha.

If it sloshes, there isn't enough.

"A Zen master recieved a university professor who came to inquire about Zen. It was obvious to the master from the start of the conversation that the professor was not so much interesting in learning Zen as he was in impressing the master with his own opinions and knowledge. Tha master listened patiently and finally suggested they have tea. The master poured the professor's cup full, and he kept on pouring. The professor watched the cup overflowing unitl he could no longer restrain himself.

'The cup is overfull, no more will go in.'

'Like this cup,' the master said, 'you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?'"

I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies, for the hardest victory is over self.

A person needs only two tools. WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.

"Believe nothing, O monks, merely because you have been told it. Do not believe what your teachers tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings - that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide."

"The ultimate weapon is 'thing-no-thing.' In addition to physical weapons consider the use of 'empty hands' to be the ultimate physical power. Now consider the use of 'empty mind.'
