Steven i'm sooo happy for you. i'm glad youre first fight went smoothly.

Believe me mate, some promoters are scumbags, it wont be the last time you meet one. Just fight youre fight never let the promotor let you out of your game.

concrats on the win, look at it as a win. next time knock youre opponent out, no promoter can help hem than

Will be spending some time with my girlfriend then I have a family vacationed planned. From the 19th-24th I will be in Hawaii, I think I will drop by Egan Inoue's school and pay tribute to them. After, I will be in LA until the 5th of January. Next fight is in Feb, Montreal again, but we will ONLY go if things will go fairly. But in the meanwhile, schoolwork is #1.

I rather not go to Hawaii and LA.....rather be here with the girlfriend.

                sucks!

Good job man, don't sweat it. Let me tell you a little story...
In my first fight I went in as hyped up and ready to kill as you did. The guy i got matched up with had a fukkin attitude problem and we went at each other pretty good, both landing some good shots...but he seemed scared and so like a pi$$ed off little ho he started doing all sorts of dumb $hit like try to elbow me and curse out loud, make tough guy signs and shoot for double legs. The ref broke it up and admonished him so many times that we barely got the chance to break a sweat. Before the FIRST round was even over, the ref stopped it and disqualified him. Afterwards people stepped in to restrain us and drag him out because I was about to throw my gloves aside and attack him. I was pi$$ed off beyond belief and i hadn't even had a full fight. So then when some other guy in my weight class ended up as the odd man out with no opponent, I was only too happy to fight again...
and I lost a decision. After all that crap and a couple months of intense training, you have no idea how dejected I felt going home like that. I felt like i had trained so long to be a winner only to come out a loser. But here's what I have learned: if you want to be a real fighter you must learn to check your ego at the door before you step in there. If you fight, you will lose...however it happens. The guys who are good are the ones who kept going in there even after they lost. It's easy to go in once and lose, and then never fight again because you don't want your ego to be hurt like that again. Getting over that is much harder than healing a shin bruise.

Hehe, you sure took a lot of pictures. Don't let it go to your head...one fight doesn't make you a tough guy
A little different from TKD, isn't it Keep it up

                      Definitely checked out Egan's place!!

I visited hawaii before I started training and actually went to Egan's. One of the instructers (shelton or sheldon/ cool guy) picked me and my ole lady up from our hotel and took us to the class.

I only watched them train because I didn't grapple but it was good experience. At that perticular time, they were preparing Egan to fight Marcello tiger if I'm not mistaken.

                      Cool group of guys!

                      later.....

It's safe to say that you're not "in training" anymore right? I am sure the girlfriend will be happy to hear that.

Enjoy your trips young man. There will be plenty of time to spend with your girl when you get back.

The worst feeling in the world is to look back on your life and say "I should have done this or that" like going to Hawaii.

This Monday, start training again. I feel antsy and am looking foward to training again.

I hope i can do this forever! My trainer is talking about cross training me with BJJ guys so that I can compete in the UCC. The other trainers believe I can do it. But I have so much to learn in Muay Thai first.

But shit only 2 years ago, it was a LIFE long goal for me to get into the ring ONCE. I did it, I really did. It all started from this board believe it or not....

                              YAY!

I talked to my trainer today. The promoter Peter King has been fired!
I think I am fighting again in March, this time somewhere in Vancouver, probably in Vancouver. No shinguards or helmets this time.
