Unless you are reeeeaaaaallllllyyyy lucky and a pee-wee player is messin with you. Or maybe the kicker. No wait, he might punt you in the go-nads. Christ, getting hit in the go-nads by a football player must be like...the worst thing...ever...

i think the main thing to consider would be that a football player could take a lot more punishment than a person who does a martial art in which there is very little actual getting hit in training like a boxer, muay thai practitioner, kick boxer whatever would prolly have a better than i dunno some karate ppl kos just in my experiance there is little FULL contact sparring in karate compared to boxing (i could be wrong maybe there is a better example than karate) but when fighting a football player they would generally be strong and able to hit hard and take a fair bit.

Also the fight would most likely end up on the ground i think someone who has skill at say ninpo or BJJ (prolly most if not all forms of ju jitsu) would be ok provided they can take a few hits or say a JKD person should be ok as well they should be able to keep the opponent at a distance. It would vary from art to art. As well as if the football player has trained in n e martial arts i know a mate of mine is a football player but he is also a boxer.

            no

I believe that martail arts if used correctly can defeat any football player. Easyly, I my self only fight when I have to. But I have defeated many people football players, lacrosse players, wrestlers, and people who study many other martial arts. If you know martial arts you would know that no matter how strong u are If I strike you in the right place you will submit. And that is a fact.

              Yang,
I do not intend to demean you, but you are eighteen years old. Just how many people could you have possibly 'defeated' in your time? You come across as someone who has way too much belief in their own invincibility for their own good.

If you know martial arts you would know that no matter how strong u are If I strike you in the right place you will submit. And that is a fact
Well, actually that's not true. However, it has some fact in it. Eye and throat shots tend to do the trick long enough for you to take off or finish the job, but you'd better not f*ck up when trying for them, or you will end up eating pavement followed by a hail of punches. A football player could definitely be a dangerous opponent. Size and strength DO matter. Quite a bit, actually.

                  The thign is

It all depends on what POSITION of a football player

If we're talkign about a QB? Best beleive he'll punch you hard as shyt.

And so on.. But most football players are recomended a backround in other sports.. most commonly Basketball which enhanced stamina and footwork to the fullest

add that inredible footwork to the brawnn other sinewed attributes of a football player and the answer is obvious

Martial arts in real life isnt as well displayed as it is in the movies. The fight will turn into a brawl no matter how you see it.. and seeing the attributes of the averable football player?

                  Footbal obviously gets this

Another thigns.. football players are used to getting pummeled.. not by oen guy.. twoor three at a time

In which they're nerves and pressure poitns are pressured in everyway.. only to get up.. and do anothe rplay after a pile up that takes place during a fumble

So do you honestly think a few good kicks to the legs, of a footbal lplayer who has hurdled and found shoulder thrusts to every part of his lower anatomy would work?

or a few good martial arts hits to the upper body or a nerve that has bee compressed, from pile ups time and time again will hurt this guys?

Think again.. Football players are built tough guys

martial arts has nothing on it..

But like i stated.. this isnt a movie.. it'll end up being a tusslign brawl anyway.. inwhich football always wins

You are also incorrect. Sorry, dude. Just because one is a football player does not mean that they are some kind of badass. It means that they are probably very strong, fast, and pain tolerant. However, if you stick to hiting first, fast, and hard, they will go down just like every other human being on the planet. Just because someone is used to pain doesn't mean that they have a rock-solid chin or that they won't flinch if you eyegouge them. Come one, guys. Let's try to understand that there is no absolute answer to almost anything. A football player still has to hurt you. That means either striking or tackling. If he doesn't get his body into his strikes properly, he won't hit very hard, regardless of his strength. A tackle can be dealt with. Is it bad if you go down? Yeah. Does the title 'football player' make you impervious to pain? Hells no. Stop trying to create invincible opponents. A buddy of mine played on the line in high school for a championship team and I can whoop his ass. Is he bigger and stronger than I am? Yes. Can he take me to the ground? Definitely. Can I prevent him from taking me to the ground? Yes. Done it before. Could he ever beat me in a real fight? Yes. Anything can happen in a real fight. Can I beat him or people like him or better than him? Yes. Especially if I stack the odds in my favor as much as possible.

I do not intend to set myself out as some kind of badass. I am not one. However, I am aware of my abilities and the abilities of others. Overestimating an opponent can be worse than underestimating him.

Do you honestly believe that a Thai kickboxer of around the same size of the football player will not hurt the football player with low round kicks?

You have to be kidding me.

Lmfao your an idiot for that comment

Most thai kickboxers are just slim in the firs tplace...

And seeing these "ARE" footbal lplayers.. the kick wouldnt connect.. it would be thrown, the football player would have doen a bob sapp rush in manouver.. it would turn into a brawl, in which this "KICKBOXER" would be humiliated

use your head.. its only logic

I agree with you ryan.. but like i stated

It all depends on thsi players position

A football player wont attempt to tackle you if he is like a QB or RB.. or WR.. because thats not somethign they are accustomed to.. what position of a football player are we talking about here?

Cause we have people like Warren Sapp's, Ray Lewis's, and the most Violent in the NFL Bill Romanowski who wil lget hit.. and wont give a shit.. Yeh.. Dont get taken down

It's all on the adrenaline factor.. they'll drop. ofcourse.. but whenteh adrenline pumps and they're already used to the abuse.. that makes them even more as deadly as thhey could have been to began with

and that comment only counts for the 3 i named

Whereon the other hand we have Tarrell Owen's, Randy Moss's, and James Thrash's out here.. who really are just the average person amongst the players.. dont do anythign spectacular but catch balls and get hit.. Granted they have a fighting backround? They'll be able to take more hits than the M.Artist can

Or we can turn to others.. thoe that LOVE the pain in the game.. and will purposely abuse themselves on the field for the fans... and bleed..and bleed..and bleed.. Those like

Ugh.. whats his name.. Tom Ritchie? or something like that.. On the second note.. i dont make footbal lplayer invincible.. just half of them are, with the pill popping and needle sticking, and they're techniques to slip passed a piss test, these guys really are what we toss them up to be

Or atleast a certaint ammount.. depends on the name.. the position.. the player

I do BJJ and MT and I am 6'2" 240lbs. You would be wrong to assume that all guys that do MT are small, thin guys. I mean come on it's football, I mean the guys are for the most part big and strong but you take them and put them against someone of comparible size and strength that is well versed in the something like BJJ or MT the football player is going to loose.

There is a common misconseption that all people that do MT are small and skinny and that is just not so. That is a stereotype just like saying that if you are black you love fried chicken and watermelon.

I have had the oppotunity to go with a few buddies of mine that play football and sure they are strong and furious but against someone that knows what they are doing it is just not a match.

when i was in highschool and college i wrestled. i wa about 130. i foughht more then a few football players who were 6 ft. and well over 200lbs. the truth is they are strong ,but the have no idea how to use it in a fight. they were all easy to takedown and destroy on the ground. sure there probably exceptions but i feel the rule is the ma will win.
