  • Instructional Videos ?

I have just joined a class to learn BJJ. They train 3 times a week but I can only attend 2.

I am finding it slow. I believe I can learn faster. Can I do it with videos without having to go to extra or private classes?

If so which videos do you recomend?

Who's series of videos have you found helpful ?

Do books help ? or r they useless ?

I am interested in BJJ and vale tudo instruction.

Your constructive comments would be much appreciated.

I have nothing constructive to say at all, so I guess I will say nothing on the subject... other than Welcome to the Forum!

Given that you have someone to practice with I would recommend Michael Jenn's Pin Escapes set. It covers the various defensive postures etc. (offensive & defensive).
Usually when you start BJJ you will concentrate on escapes and basic positions.

It should become understandable as you practice it and attend your classes. You should get a leg up on the other beginners who don't have grappling experience.
