How do you refer to the person or people you train with? You can insert the activity in front of the main word to give you a feel for what it sounds like.

For example, lifting buddy, sparring partner, comrade in arms, etc...

I prefer the term Spotter. It's disturbing when someone wants me to be their "partner"...

Our school is pretty close, we go hang out to watch the UFC's, Pride...etc.

and after class, sometimes we go eat dinner together. We have parties for our teacher and such.
So I would say team mates, or guys we train with.

It all depends on what you are doing; if your lifting weights,
then he/she is your spotter; if your rolling / striking, then
he/she is your training partner. Same diff.

So when your friends introduce you to people you don't mind if they say "I'd like you to meet my partner."??

Yup, but I add that he is "my partner that I frolic and rub on the ground with."

When I used to train in Houston my instructor used to always treat me/call me "the enemy"

But I'm sure it was all in good fun, he was a great instructor
