Remedial Writing?
Sorry, I didn't realize this was the remedial section. Apparently my problem WAS reading closely what you wrote and I quote again:
Oh, whoops it does. "A Black Belt in BJJ will beat a Black Belt's ass from any other art." There is no exception suggested by that statement. I pointed out that lack of exception and you took offense. Tough.
If you recognize that was too absolute, great. You have progressed beyond Third Grade. If you do not recognize that as an absolute statement or recognize your own words when they are quoted back to you, not so great. If you don't remember writing it, check the forum. If you don't recognize that is what you said, because that is not what you meant, get better at writing.
To sum up:
1. You are right about exceptions. You just didn't allow for any in your statement.
2. Learn to recognize your own words AND their generally accepted meaning.

you should read more closely to what others say. Tell me Greg, where in there does it say BJJ BB's will win every fight, against ALL opponents? Oh, whoops it doesn't.
So, to summarize it up for you Greg:
1. Yes there are exceptions to every rule. (Usually people learn this around 3rd grade.)
2. Putting words into people's mouths is a bad thing.

It is generally agreed BJJ is geared more towards competition rather than self-defence. However, a great deal of BJJ techniques can be applied to self-defence situations. Also, A Black Belt in BJJ will beat a Black Belt's ass from any other art.
