Steve Maxwell dumps Relson Gracie

Less than 6 months after becoming Relson Gracie's first American Black Belt, Steve Maxwell has decided to leave the Relson Gracie training association and become his own entity, Maxercise. Loyalty is something that was once preached in our gym, where is it now? Why would you accept a belt from a man when you are considering leaving him? Has the belt become bigger than the man?
When you walked into the doors of the Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy East, you could feel the intensity as soon as you hit the mat. This is the case no longer, the team has had their leader removed with no obvious reason or explanation. No announcement was made, the Relson Gracie signs just came down.
What is your opinion on this? Are we wrong to feel betrayed? What would you do in this situation?
Respectfully yours,
"The unknown soldier"
