  • BEST Sumbission move.....?

What is the best submission move in existence, by best I mean a move that is: difficult to escape, can be applied from a variety of positions and situations, is somewhat easy to apply…etc. I personally would say it is between the Guillotine and the Triangle. The Guillotine is ultra easy to apply and if applied right can do some decent damage, the problem with the move is that it works best against those who know least about grappling. One of the drawbacks to the Guillotine is figuring out if you really have it in strong. A move such as the Guillotine would probably work best in some street fight against some punk kid named Pierce or something. I believe the Triangle represents the true elite move in grappling arts, it is virtually impossible to escape and can cause some serious damage, the only drawback to the triangle is that you must be on the ground to do it otherwise it is virtually flawless….

    What do you think?

I'd have to say the armbars (from the guard or mount) or the triangle.

      BJJwarrior,

Are you talking the street or MMA?

My favorite is the armbar from the guard and the triangle. The triangle can really confuse an inexperienced grappler which will usually make him standup and spike you. My advice would be to apply it when they have more weight on their stomach than on the knees.

Both, the street and in MMA

I guess in the street it would be the guillotine

In MMA it would probably be a triangle

I have to say the straight arm bar is definately one because you can apply it from so many positions. If you work and study the mechanics of the move you can get really good as staying on top and holding the arm bar or following your opponent while he scrables to escape.

Cross face neck crank is the easiest to learn and most effective submission to get. You can get it from the same situations as the guillotine, but much more effective and FAST.

Heel hooks are also probably one the easiest to learn and most lethal to apply.

In my opinion based on my limited experience and low IQ...

Arm Lock: I would have to go with arm locks/arm bars. Easy to apply, easy to control the opponent once in place. Non lethal, but can be extremely painful. And it's easy for you to escape the lock(i.e. let go) to face new situations.

Choke: If you put somone in a choke or head submission, you better be willing to take them all the way out. Some people may give up, but some people might try all sorts of nasty tricks to escape. This also ties you up and makes it more difficult to disengage. I would say, however, that chokes/strangles are KING in competition

Wrist locks: Only good against family members or at the very beginning of an altercation. These are useless and probably not allowed in competition.

Leg submissions: Excellent for competition, only used in self defense if you have a death wish.

But, then again, nothing, NOTHING I SAY, beats the Dim Mak Toe Hold. Have you heard from Patterson lately? I didn't think so.....

In the street I have to say either the eye gunge or the balls cracker (groin claw)

In mma arm bar or the rear neaked choke

Nut shots may or may not work/be hard to score. But that may only be on me.

Eye gouges illicit serious repercussions. Legally and otherwise.
