Goodridge has been in far more fights than Royce. I like Royce, but Goodridge knows submissions, therefore is able to counter those threats and is MUCH bigger. Therefore a bigger person with superior striking, strength and knowledge with submissions should be able to fight and domminate the fight. Everyone is too skilled to be fighting outside their weightclass (providing they intend to go UP a class). Royce is too small and it looks like he cant get too much bigger.

Please lay off the crack. Moreira is no Gracie? Moreira is one of the only BJJ'ers who Rickson could not tap out, and had to beat on points. Moreira could wipe the floor with most of the people on this forum, Rey Diogo and a couple of others excluded.
My point was, a guy as big, tough, and experienced as Goodridge could give Royce an excellent match. Yet because of his lack of grappling, he could still get caught with a submission.
I have no choice but to conclude that you are a troll, especially considering your ridiculous name.

Moreira is a superb BJJ'er, but could not take down a much-larger man with some wrestling skill (Varelans). Like Varelans, Big Daddy is not an 'A'-level Heavyweight, but he is still a Heavyweight with almost 20 fights under his belt, and he hits like a freight train. If he decides to keep a fight with Royce standing, then Royce will have to work hard to get it to the ground. Even in Royce's guard, Big Daddy's bombs could do some damage to Royce's pretty complexion. So Big Daddy would not be a walk-over for Royce by any stretch of the imagination. I think it would be a tough fight, like Kimo.
I apologize for calling you a troll, but for you to insinuate that I was putting down Royce is ridiculous. Read my comments about Royce on the "Loosing with Honor" or "Tyson is a Chicken" threads. Just because I don't think he could steam-roll Goodridge doesn't mean I'm insulting him.

That would be a very interesting fight. But big daddy doesn't lose many fights to submission other then chokes. He is a just a super strong guy, I remember a fight a long time ago not sure who it was with might have been Valentijn Overeem. He had sunk a very good kimura and gary pulled his arm back. The man had more strength in one arm then his opponent had in both.
Royce as a lot have people have already said is a grade A grappler. I would see the match with gary being on the offensive pretty much the whole time and then getting cocky. Which in turn gets him taken out in a choke.
Instead of putting Royce against a B grade fighter why not put him against someone like matt hughes or even someone from the light heavies. Say couture for example. He is one of the best rounded fighters there is. I couldn't see Royce doing well against either Hughes or Couture.
But in the case of Gary and Royce, royce would be my choice as well. Even though I like Gary more, mainly cause he lives in my hometown.

Royce would OWN Hughes. Couture is too big and strong and his ground game is too good for Royce to overcome with superior ground game, Couture wins by GNP.

Im not sure if he would own hughes. Hughes has a decent ground game and he is one of the most powerful wrestlers in the UFC. He doesn't have very good striking but its most likely better then Royce's. Royce would have the advantage on the ground of course but Hughes would just overpower him completly.
