They teach it at Frank Cucci's school here in Virginia Beach, Not sure how effective it would be but it looks like fun.

Till you break your neck or something .

Someone who voluntarily puts their head at foot level... It's FRIGGIN DREAM COME TRUE. It would be a tough decision between kicking the Capoiera dude in the head or stopming on his nuts while his legs are spread further apart than a Thai hooker's (that one's for the lady who hates CJ). NOTE TO HER: Just for the record, I am 25% Basque, and am therefore allowed to make any racial slur i choose to . Bwa hahahahaha!

I doubt if a capoiera practitioner could last 5 minutes against a BJJ black belt.

nah, i dont think they are that effective... never heard of anybody using it in real life situations yet. i guess, they are just flashy kicks.

Check this guy's form of Capoeira that he called it "Multi-Level-Moves", damn it looks pretty cool, i might give it a go one day soon .

the website is at http://www.multilevelmoves.com there are lots of video clips there to show them jumping, kicking, spinning etc, some of the kicks seem effective. as said before i dont know if it would be effective to execute it in real life situations.

spare some of your thoughts on this

I have read stories in books about elderly Brazilian capoeira masters who supposedly used their art to defeat large groups of people. Are they true? Probably not, or they were told in a misleading way.

Supposedly, capoeira people use unusual kicks and lots of misdirection to surprise and confuse their opponents. Like monkey kung fu, I'm skeptical about its combat value. I would have to see it in action to believe it can be used effectively in a real fight or in the ring.

You have to admit, though, it's very cool to watch . . .

Good rule of thumb: if it's beautiful to watch, then it 'ain't worth a damn for real fighting. The stories: lies IMHO.
