  • Who will be the first in PRIDE to beat Sakuraba?

I'm not sure of his official record, but assuming he has never been beat in PRIDE or any NHB events, who will be the first to beat Sakuraba and "de-throne" him, and why? (only fighters UNDER 200lbs)

By the way, does anyone know his "official" NHB record - including Pankrase, shooto etc?

    Ronnie.

Royce Gracie in a blinding exhibition of vengeance after he makes yet ANOTHER comeback to shock the world! This time he won't break his foot no matter how hard Sak kicks him, AND the lousy officials of Japan will not be allowed to steal the match away when Royce gets yet ANOTER FIGHT-ENDING guillotine choke from hell on his frightened opponent!

......oh wait what am I saying?
        ...mmmm maybe Frank

Ha, Sakuraba is not Rickson! He will be beaten when he fights the right man. Royce will certainly prove how lucky he was when they have the rematch next year. I hope Sak stays healthy until then, he better be prepared.

Sak. was "lucky" with Royce? What fight were you watching? Personally I thought Sak. handed Royce out on his ass. I have to say, Royce was pretty aggressive.

Sak has already lost in Pride to Vovchanchin. He also lost his first NHB fight against Kimo a few years back.

Those guys were over 200 pounds though. I think Sakuraba may be able to take Frank now, I don't know. I don't see anyone beating him for a while.

                  Mark my words:

Frank can and WILL beat Sakuraba, but it may not take place in Pride. Frank is trying to get the fight moved to the U.S. Maybe he's aware of some shenanigans with Pride. Or maybe he just thinks he deserves home-field advantage. Who knows?

In Pride, all it takes is one bad night. I think Dan Henderson could beat Sak. He matches up with him very well.

At this level, on any given day any given person will lose.

                          Tiger69,

You're right, Sak ISN'T Rickson... the fact
that we're talking about who Sak will fight is proof of that.

I just hope now that PRIDE realizes it has the hot property in Sak that they don't start feeding him lame opponents.

I think Goes beats Sak in a rematch. I think Vitor might give him trouble. I think F. Shamrock also gives Sak a hard time.

I go with Frank on this one. He's the best middle weight with the best chance of getting a Sak matchup.

Other fighters who would take him include Tito, Henderson, and Randleman (he can fight under 200 lbs). I think Silva and Vitor might give him a poblem also.

Fighters that are predominantly BJJ don't give sak much of a problem, so I don't see guys like Goes, Royce, Bustemante, etc beating him...

                            later...

                              keithws:

I don't think Silva is good enough on the ground to give Sak much of a problem, and I think Sak OWNS Vitor after the drubbing he inflicted on him last year.

Otherwise, we are in 100% agreement.

                              dutchman:

I think Sak can be outgassed, but only by Frank. Frank's stamina is unholy.
