I went yesterday with a friend. We got there like at 1pm and the kids were still fighting. So we took off and came back later like at 3pm. Saw some white belt fights and the Black Belt superfights. It was pretty quiet like you said. Rener Gracie won his match but his brother Ryron lost. What belt are you Crzy? Do you plan to compete? Overall, the tournament was pretty cool. Not bad for $8 spectator fee.

That bit about the guy complaining to the ref about a hit on the head is tragc. It is yet more evidence that BJJ will tread down the same sorry slope of 99% of Karate. In the end old ladies and 8 year olds will be proclaimed "Black Belts".

I remember going to some Karate tournaments oin the early 80s. Again, the slightest tap on the head and the "fighter" would hit the deck, trying to get his/her opponent disqualified.

Pathetic.

I used to go to karate tournaments. They suck. You really do see little 10 year olds with black belts, and above 50 women you can barely punch. There are some good fighters out there, but it's one in avery 20. It's really pathetic.

Hell yeah, There were a lot of chicks there. Most of them didn't even wear a bra. I guess is was too hot in there or something. Did you see the fight between the guy that weighed like 1000lbs vs the guy thats about 350lbs? It was the open weight fight. Anyways, good luck on your Blue.
