this guy was so _not_ a pussy:P

how do you get a toning/muscle-like thing like that? is it something you are born with? or training?

Different factors depending on the fighter. Some have great genetics, some use steroids, some obsessed with getting big, a combination of all the above. Steroids.

Those who aren't in shape use the cop-out "He's on steroids" way too much. Yes, there are some fighters who use steroids, but the majority do not.

Most of us don't have the physique that pro-fighters have simply because we don't have the time/resources to spend maintaining our body. I'm a college student with more disposible time on my hands than most of you guys working 40-60 hr a week jobs. Therefore I'm in reasonably good condition because I have more time and energy to spend in the gym. However, I have worked 2 jobs at one time in the past, and my body strength went down the toilet.

So when I see a pro-fighter with who is in really good shape, I don't automatically assume he's on roids, I just realize that he's able to commit more time to training and hitting the weights.

Yup you're right, however, a lot of these guys were cycling steroids getting big before the steroid testing began in NHB. Now they work hard to keep those gains. There's a lot going on with that subject. For example some steroids don't stay in the body that long.. and advanced users know how to keep their gains. I met one guy once in Los Angeles at a certain upscale jiu-jitsu club that was insistent about quietly shopping his "wares" to pro fighters and them buying. Well, now I believe what I see with my own two eyes.
