Why do you want to see pictures of other people who post on this forum? I, for one, am rather frightened at the prospect. I'm just not the sort of person who likes to look at pictures of dudes who post on martial arts forums. But if you're into that sort of thing, hey, more power to you.

      Even a better idea

Why not meet up with other Defend.net members in the UK and train with them and exchange technique? What techniques would you share with them?

Swan, Bri Thai, Chris 2000 (bouncer guy), Choke UK....what do you guys think?

Um, the pictures thing might be a resource issue in terms of disk space. I'd have to ask Tim about this. Personally, I think you guys are ugly enough in print. (Heh, couldn't resist.)

I'd be pretty worried about the possible abuses of that kind of a post area. Didn't someone post a picture of his supposed "girlfriend" recently that just turned out to be a picture of a ring girl. Do the modifiers really want that kind of a headache?

I highly doubt anyone would want to see my scary mug on here.

However you already can attach pictures to posts here. I wish there were more people who did vid clips of their fights especially. Maybe there should be a special section for people to up clips of their fights on.

                Thanks

                Thank you.

You have all given great answers.
But replying to someone’s comment. erhh RobertG.
I want to see pictures of others because you can see what other people are doing in the world of martial arts. You personally do not have to post them. But I have got a lot to show you all. And many others do to.

                Thanks terry for asking.

                  Paul,

Does stunt work pay well in the UK? What are the ins and outs of stuntwork and who would you recommend take a job with a stunt team?

                  Thks

Well actually I still really don't see the point. Its not like you are going to be posting videos of techniques or anything. Its going to be a picture of some dude trying to look cool in some sort of martial arts pose. What exactly does that show me? I mean its all either very narcissitic or just plain weird. I know what people are doing in the world of martial arts. They're grappling, their kicking and punching, they are beating each other with sticks, or shanking each other with knives. It pretty much looks the same everywhere you go. This is seriously puzzling to me; I mean they have this sort of thing on bodybuilding forums because people like to show off there 0% bodyfat physiques or whatnot. Anytime a bunch of guys are posting pictures of themselves in speedos flexing muscles for other guys to look at I think its rather suspicious, but at least they have some justification. If they have a recalitrant body part, like, oh, they can't get the size on their real delt or somesuch, people can critique them and whatnot. But what exactly is the point here? Are you going to post a picture of yourself in the guard and ask for critique on your positioning? Presumabley whoever you train with can do that for you. So please explain to me what anyone is going to learn from looking at pictures of you? Or anyone else. Inquiring minds want to know.

                      come on think about it

                      Picture it.
                      duh dum.

Lets say there’s a picture of me doing a spinning heel kick.
WOULDN'T THAT BE CALL TO SEE?
or what about this: there’s a picture of me showing you the condition of my abs. And how well developed my back is.

maybe you worry about your image to much.
you personally don't have to post pics.
                      others want to!

                      get the point now?

Dude that is the singular most gay post I have ever had the misfortune of reading.

This is a martial arts site, not a gay porn site. I really don't want to see your abs. I somehow doubt that I'm in the minority. And who does spinning heel kicks anymore? I mean really...that is so Van Damme. Speaking of which, while you're at it, how about a picture of you doing the splits?

                          Paul,
If people want it, they can have it, provided that Terry's point is addressed with Tim. However, you seem to be the only one pushing for this.

That last post of yours is THE reason that we are perhaps better without such a section. Unless there is a useful PSP that someone has to post, I think such a section would be without purpose. Robert is not in the minority when he says he doesn't want to see your back or abs--or any other body part for that matter. Let's get serious here. Such a section would be, as someone already put it, "either very narcissitic or just plain weird." I also don't want to have to deal with the nonsense that would result from a section like that. There are enough people who make immature posts. I don't need immature pictures as well.

Pictures probably aren't a good idea. if someone wants to post pictures of themselves let them set up their own website and link to it so anyone interested can see.

Personally I do not want to see pictures of a highschool boys abs. I high school girls abs would be a different story. Some of the scariest people i've met in martial arts aren't that big and do not have all that well defined muscles. Most were plain ugly and it was their mentality that made them scary not their physical developments.

best just to keep things to words on here, otherwise some people may feel they might actually have to back up some of the crap they say.

Paul you might want to go here:

There is a forum there for people to post pictures of themselves in various states of undress flexing their muscles. Of course, more likely than not, these guys will rip you a new one, esepcially if you go around talking about spinning heel kicks. Paul, the horrors I had to look at to find a forum for boys like you *shudders*....I hope you appreciate it.
