  • How will Tyson hold up in K-1?

The deal is sealed. Mike Tyson has signed with K-1. Now, one has to wonder how well “Iron” Mike will hold up in another full-contact event that features kicks, among other fighting strategies. Will this prove detrimental to boxing?

Frankly, I believe Tyson is doing this for financial reasons but his pocket may not be the only thing empty when this is all done.

I beleive the only thing for sure now is that if Tyson wants to compete in k1, it would have to be in Japan. It doesn't mean that he has any matches set up. And he can still compete in boxing, just if he wants to do a k1 fight it'd have to be in Japan. Atleast that's how I read it on sherdog.

I feel as tho tyson is gonna get an eye opener. He thinks that he can not be stopped. And I feel as tho K-1 is gonna put th boot in his ass. Hes gonna have to train real hard.

I think Tyson will be a wrecking ball in K-1. I don't think there is anyone in K-1 that can withstand the power shots Tyson will be dishing out. I'm predicting Tyson knocking a lot of people out.

I guess it all depends on how they let him fight. If its standup only, then yeah, I think he'll do well. However, if they do allow grappling, expect a relatively quick takedown and him getting tapped out.

If his opponent is smart, he will attack Tysons legs with low kicks to the knee and shin. That is where he has the least training, being a boxer.

I think Tyson, if his opponent is smart, will get his arse handed to him.

Pride... K1.... Its all the same

I was pretty tired when I posted that last night. IIRC, I did see Sapp get tapped out once by an arm bar, but I can't remember what organization they were fighting under. I took a guess that it was K1. Like I said, I must have been out of it.

                        **Edit**
It was in a Pride match when he got an armbar put on him.

There is no grappling in K1. Initially, I thought Tyson was insane, but the more I think about it and study the fighters, I think Tyson is going to beat the hell out of a lot of people.

I don't know how he'll do against the good k-1 guys, but I think he'll KO Sapp.
