Would Bruce Lee win UFC fights had he been still alive and willing to compete?

If he was as dedicated as the stories say, he would go to Brazil and train with the Gracies, hook up with a wrestler, and a Judoka and learn take downs. Mix in a few rounds of sparring with a kick boxer and he would be a decent MMA fighter. If he went in cold without doing that? He gets taken down and submitted in less than 5 minutes by an average MMA guy.

Right on the MONEY as far as training !!!!!
I think he may do better than your average guy as he was though.
We are talking about him in his prime.
There are some very good strikers who do quite well in the ufc who only possess blue belt skills on the ground (which I believe Bruce would have achieved in short order.)

1.the gracies were unheard of then (except for brazil)
2.bruce lee was a very competent ground fighter, he just thought it was too boring for movies.
i "love" the gracies but every now and then i take the time to pull my tongue out of their asses just to think!

No they were NOT unheard of.The Machados were in Texas and had there challange matches posted in newspapers.The Gracies were actually selling training courses in the back of Kung Fu magazines.I was a Bruce fan and taking TKD when I was in the service at the age of 17.I even knew about them.
I think that Bruce would very much have been willing to train with them.That is what made his philosophy one to follow.He embraced every martial art as a source to learn from.He already had the MMA mentality going on.

In Rorion Gracies own words. He was the first Gracie in the USA. Around 1970 or so. He did not teach. He was pretty much a beach bum. Or us Americans would of called him a Hippy (maybe). Regardless, he was broke, and didn't really do anything.

He returned to Brazil around 10 years later and informed his family of the oppurtunities in America. Bo BJJ was being offered to the American public.

In the '80's BJJ came out but not sure of the date of the first BJJ school but it wasn't the Machados, pretty sure of that.

I doubt Bruce Lee would be able to compete in MMA competition. In my opinion a thai kick would snap his leg is half.

What is amazing about all these claims about Bruce Lee is that you all have in mind a film star of the 1970s - thus ignoring that Lee was also a martial artist - and that you compare that picture with 1990s MMArtists who enter the UFC. But nobody out there seems to realize that if Bruce Lee had been living in the 90s he would have trained in a modern way, with MMA fighters in order to compete in Vale Tudo, UFC etc. etc. So, who can tell if he'd win or lose? Lee was one of the first to criticize TMA and to open the way to MMA. What he showed in his films was not what he taught to Inosanto & Co.

Rorian is Helios eldest son and under his father is a 9th degree black belt, one of the highest ranked true BJJ in the world.

Machados are nephews to Helio and Carlos Sr. and in the 70's would have been around "our age," teenagers (most likely).

Carlos Machodo is the oldest of the brother and he came to the usa in 1990.

all of his films, all of his instructional VCD's........ the only type of Martial Arts Bruce Lee frequently mentions is all KUNGFU or CHINESE BOXING......

What he showed in his films was not what he taught to Inosanto & Co.

His Movie Art is Jeet Kune Do, while his Real-Actual-StreetFight is WingChun and other KungFu's.........
