I'm all confused, I thought Muay Thai was tough because it was realistic and realistic means lots of sparring like BJJ.
Muay Thai involves alot of sparring. It is tough and very realistic in every way.If all your school does is bag and pad work you have to question why ?

Without sparring in Muay Thai you simply aren't doing Muay Thai.If you want to learn real Muay Thai maybe you should consider going to a new school.

Heavy bag and pad work help condition you, makes one faster and puncher harder but doing these alone will not make you a better fighter.Sparring is what makes you a better fighter.

Think about it how can your fighting skills improve if you're not used to hitting a target that hits back and if you aren't used to taking hits ? You can't.

Muay Thai without sparring would be like asking for a cheese burger without cheese it simply makes no sense.
