That is looking at the subject matter in a very, very narrow minded way. Corky.

Excuse me, but you inserted yourself into the discussion with your dime-store philosophy. Don't feel too persecuted, champ.

If you’re not here to broaden your horizons and edify yourself than you are wasting your time. I thought that an educated point of view may be appreciated in this forum, but clearly you are happy with such vitriol, shallow, and dare I say obtuse and very injudicious posts. On a final note, I will leave you with this anecdote. Sister.

A learned man once went to visit a Zen teacher to inquire about Zen. As the Zen teacher talked, the learned man frequently interrupted to express his own opinion about this or that. Finally, the Zen teacher stopped talking and began to serve tea to the learned man. He poured the cup full, then kept pouring until the cup overflowed. “Stop,” said the learned man. “The cup is full, no more can be poured in.” “Like this cup, you are full of your own opinions,” replied the Zen teacher. “If you do not first empty your cup, how can you taste my cup of tea?”

Now this may just be my opinion, but...

If you assume that you are requested or qualified to "enlighten" anyone, don't cry too loudly when you are told in no uncertain terms to shove it up your ass

Goodness gracious, "enlighten" is a big word for you now isn't it? Now be a good little boy and send me some more lovely private messages. Really, the homophobic statement was my favourite part of the last one. So anybody who doesn’t agree with you is a “Faggot”? Do you kiss your boyfriend with those lips? Honestly, there is no need for such derision. You had better get used to people voicing their opinions, that is what a forum is for. I've got a newsflash for you, nobody is forcing you to read my messages. I can’t express myself monosyllabically enough for you to understand them in the first place. Cheers daffodil.

Is it? If you say so, champ.

well i really like doing the work for take downs. it was the most fun because i could whip out shit i learned from BJJ, FMA and Shooto. it also was really helpful in teaching me how to take a fall, or sprawl out of one. i still don't get the point of taking the guy over your shoulder and throwing him down. it's just it wastes so much energy that you could be using to beat his ass on the way down. it was great fun and i would definately do it again.

Wow, you guys bicker a lot. At first I thought this forum would be a cool place to meet the greater martial community, but wow. I train mostly with my big brother, he's been a martial artist for about 21 years and I respect him a lot. He's said how the martial arts are full of politics and infighting, but I never really thought about it as our gym does everything from Aikido, to Muay Thai, to grapling, to escrima etc, on a regular basis; there's no division. But I've been reading through this sight, and it seems like almost every thread has somebody being defencive and rude. I think I wrote the most polite comment ever seen to the internet on one of them pointing out how the philosophy behind martial arts would dictate some more respect, but I was pretty much laughed at and told "wtf". PLEASE tell me the community is better than this, anyone?
