I was wondering if you high kick someone close enough, then axe kick the leg. Is it possible? A leg axe kick?

Too fancy to axe kick someone's leg. That's the stuff of 70's kung-fu movies. The axe kick is usually targeted at the collarbone when someone is standing or the back of the head or middle of the back if they are bent over.
Too fancy of a kick in general, but could be used if you've allready stunned someone or can do it with lightning speed.

Actually the Axe Kick to the leg is a technique in Bruce Lee's Jun Fan Gung Fu and is generally used as a counter to the o'ou tek (roundhouse kick). While there are some people out there that could probably make great use of it, there are probably a lot of other techniques that will functionalize quicker and give you better results with half the effort in training.

I've used leg axe kicks a couple of times in sparring, if you land one in the knee pit it can cause some substantial damage, but it's too slow to be used in a street incounter, but then again I ain't the fastest guy with my feet. (Unless your oponent is drunk.)
Sincerly,
Andrew Velocci

I used to spar with a Savate guy--a silver glove under Salem..and he would throw a kick that came around high, like any spinning heel or crescent kick..but then would drop it down at the last second and nail me in the thigh with it. It sucked

I'm sure that this technique exists in various systems, I'm most familiar with the applications concepts in Jun Fan Gung Fu where it is used as an interception to a low round kick. I'll be honest, I've never pulled it off as an interception in that manner, but I have used it to target the thigh and quadriceps of less mobile fighters and I've been hit by it. All I can say is if you are fast or smart enough to make it work, Holy Sh*t it hurts!!!!
