once again guys, especially Harry above, I am not saying that one fucking style is better than another, I came across the video clip, was surprised, and simply thought it might be of interest, especially in view of how often tkd vs. other style/s has been discussed.
So, i posted a link to it, if anyone doesnt like this then there are many other threads to go and read.
Sorry, I just thought you were making a point about MT not being good or some other point that was designed to be derrogatory to Muay Thai, I couldn't watch the clip because my windows media player is shit and broken.

no need for apologies Harry, no I wasnt initially being derogatory to MT, especially when i have trained in it and enjoyed it so much for a good few years. Like i said before, I came across the vid clip and thought I would post it here for a bit of fun mainly because of all the verbal bashing that TKD and other styles seem to get from the ignorant kiddies.
there have been many threads where the statements "prove it" or "have you got that on film"? etc.. have been made, well, heres a situation where a dumb looking muayThai gets royally whooped...............haw haw haw

that's right, he looks as a dumb MT fighter, he went into clinch and no knees??? mmmhhh looks strange to me. I mean, EVERY thai fighter uses knees!! By the way, does anyone know where these two guys fought??I think the TKD guy was more confident and the MT guy was scared of his kicking techniques. I agree, man beats man, there's no TKD beats MT (also because the clip is incomplete and I cannot see how the match ends)
Kung Fu beat Thai Boxing at ratio of 22-2.
Thai Boxing beat TKD at ratio 22-2.
Kung Fu beat TKD by....let me see......take 1, carry 12 over....minus 6........ 22-2
One thing I find about thai boxing that is really effective against other styles are the combos that you consistently work on.
In relation to the clip, that thai boxer or whatever he was, wasn't doing anything really.
The way I've trained - focused on use of combos and bursting out to throw off your opponents or get around them / psyche em out and hit em from an unexpected angle or with an unexpected flury.
SO, along with that, counter-attacks have been strongly emphasized in my training.
Anyway, all I'm trying to say is that that thai boxer in the clip didn't seem to do anything really. Like everyone said, it represents a match b/w two people ...
Im not gunna say TKD or Thai is better ... that's not what the clip is about - rather, its a match where you can watch and learn from.
IF yer a thai boxer, don't let that happen to you!! haha
IF yer a TKD person, then maybe the clip shows ya that there is hope against us Thai Boxers hahahhaah j/k
I agree with your comment about the combos btw. Believe it or not, I do actually think that Boxing, MT & SanShou are the best of all the striking arts.
(did have some fun with the clip though )
