what happened was, Tyson wen to Bob sub's fight, K-1 in japan. after bob knocked down his opponent, mike started ranting about bob's not being a real fighter, went up on the ring, and gave a taunt. so a japanese promoter signed mike up for K-1. thai organizations for muaythai are discussing his behaviours to consider accepting him to train in thailand or not.

I think Tyson would do well in muay thai. He is a real fighter.

The thing is, he needs to get back to his old self, back to the days when he was 18 humble and living a regimented lifestyle under the watchfull eye of Cus D'amato.

Maybe he needs someone like a Muay thai version of Cus to step in and work with him. Someone who can talk with him, guide him with good wisdom and also be his trainer at the same time.

If he got back to his old-school days, training focus and his hungry but humble ways, Tyson would be a champion in any fighting venue...judo, muay thai, you name it.

he's got great deadly punches, that's.......about......it...
that's why he's lost all previous fights, people caught on to him. being big and strong doesn't make you a great fighter, a real fighter maybe considering he's a pro boxer, but a great one? i highly doubt... but if he could adapt to muaythai and learn it by heart, not with agression, he'll be a great fighter then.

Mike Tyson was exposed to muay Thai by Cus D'Mato when he was in his early teens. In the 80s, while he was still the World Heavyweight Champ, he spent a week as a private student of a qualified muay Thai instructor, a former champ, to prepare for a fight. He subsequently won and if you have watched the knockout, you probably noticed it occurred from an 'inadvertent' elbow delivered as a right cross. This is not to say he is in any way capable of putting it together now, but who knows? And please don't ask me to name the muay Thai instructor, you have probably never met him anyways. I personally do not think the Thai governing body will allow him to fight, because he has no respect. Just think, have you ever seen a Thai boxer disrespect his opponent? the referee? the crowd?

This is lost on me.
Its not like Tyson was fighting chumps. He was the undisputed Heavy weight champion for a long time. He wouldnt' need to know MT to be able to get in there and knock people out, his boxing skills would get him by. Last I checked, Tyson is still ranked 27 in the world. And look at his fights. Most fights against tyson never lasted more than 3 minutes. 9 lasted less than 2 minutes, and 9 lasted less than 1 minute. Hes still 50-5 with 44KO's. You gotta be kidding if you think all he had was good punches.

But I dont see Tyson being allowed to fight K1. Who'd fight him? I've heard alot of people say they'd fight Tyson for a milliion bucks. But who'd jump in K1 and try and take Tyson down for K1 prize money? I dont think so. The most rounds in K1, I think, is 5. Tyson could easily go 5 rounds with anybody in K1. Seriously, would anyone on this forum take Tyson on? I dont think so.

I'm sure there have been fighters in Thailand who are disrespectful bastards...but the vast majority of all of the cream of the thai stables have been, by-far-and-large, incredible sportsmen, and excellent examples of respectful competitors....
But, I'm sure that there are dick thai boxers in Thailand.
I want to see Mike get knocked by a katoey, transvestite thai boxer...just watching him being emasculated would be mucho entertainment.
