six packs are not the essence of a true warrior, maybe for a model but not warrior. body fat is important, if not too much(beer belly), the important part is to condition your abs, not beautify. make them tolerant to blows, not to beers.

but if you really need to see those six to ten packs, eat high carbs for a week or two, then rapidly drop your body water.

How about tolerant to beers and blows? Just kidding.

Muay Siam, could you share with us a typical muay thai figher's diet?

Does it include lots of tom yum ?

diet for practitioners or for ring fighters.
from what the trainers from the camp near my house told me, they eat anything they like, but with lots of rice and veggies, no junkies, and during prep for fights, no soft drinks, more water.
              lots of fruits.
it's pretty simple. a healthy but simple diet, eat what your body mechanism tells you it needs.

they're not strict about their diet, more strict on the trainning.
oh, and if they're not at the right weight for the fight, they'll have to eat much less.
                  hahaah

I guess it would be a crime for a Thai native to share his recipes to farang

Seriously, though. Your abs aren't separate muscles. The frontal abdominal muscle is actually a thin sheet of muscle, and the segments we call a "six pack" is where it is divided by tendons. If you are genetically one of those lucky people with oddly defined tendons, you can work yourself into the grave and still not see a six pack. Myself, I usually get great definition on the sides, but my abs just become a very solid "plate" when my body fat drops under about 8%. There's almost no division between the segments. Experts say that you won't see your abs very well until you drop below 10% body fat, and if you have a genetic history of visceral fat storage (in other words, if your daddy had a beer bbelly or a spare tire, you're hosed), you may never see it as well as you'd like. My advice is train to be strong and functional. Chicks are far more impressed with a guy who can fight than a pretty boy any day.
Wow. I have learned something! ahaha coool 8D im under 10% body fat.

It sounds to me like youve got the right body fat % and definition, but your abs just arent large enough to show. I suggest doing weighted situps for a while to add a bit of muscle mass so they stick out a bit more, then working on definition. Im in a similar state as you, I have the slight outlines of a 6 pack but they just plain arent big enough to be noticeable.

ive think i know where your coming from here... ive got the same problem. my diet sucks tho. im just looking for the time to do something about it. but from a practical point of view, if you have muscle there just not defined, try this

get a chinning bar. the steel things that go across doorways. mount it about 15 cm below the top of the doorframe. now hang off it, head down, legs hooked over it. ideally dont cross your legs. kep your arms bent sit up style, so your not using momentum. now you find out how much you want that pack... pull youself all the way up with your abs alone. now lower yourself down. dont swing. kills the exercise, makes you so much more likely to fall off. you do that as controlled and rapid as you can until your abs actually burn then walk it off (dont worry about falling off, i did that once... its more embarressing that painfull cos you just put a hand down)let me know how it goes. i wish i could be arsed to do it
