  • Chuck Norris' World Combat League

Hey, has anyone seen this yet? It was posted on the IKF site forum. There isn't much more info posted on it yet, but watch the video...it looks to be a pretty awesome thing if Chuck gets it off the ground.

www.martialartsradio.com is supposed to have some more info too, but not much.

I just checked it out and could not find anything.

Wow. I had no idea Chuck Norris knew anything about martial arts. Let alone the fact he was a world champion 6 times. I thought he was just an actor.

Chuck Norris used to be a huge fan of muay Thai, whether he is still or not I do not know. He wanted to take private lessons from Master Chai but Master Chai did not have the time and referred Chuck to some teachers in the LA area. I do not know if Norris went or not. I do know his 'Chuck Norris Thai Pads' are a joke, nothing but very thin pieces of foam.

          Swisscom,

Chuck studied Tang Soo Do in Korea when he was stationed there in the Air Force. He was there for atleast 4 years I know. He talked about failing his first Black Belt test, and then passing like 6 months later. Actually he is one of the legit martial artists, of the ones who are in movies. He needs help with the acting part though, lol. His UFAF (United Fighting Arts Federation) is pretty large nation wide, and I believe he makes his black belts study under the Machado brothers before they can advance any further under him. He is also the chairman of Kick Drugs out of America. It has a different name now though. He was the 6 times champ When karate was full contact, before kickboxing evolved.

          Chalambok,

I know Chuck has cross trained over the years, but I had no idea he studied, or wanted to study Muay Thai. I wonder, too, if he did, because you never saw any Thai in his movies or on his walker tv series. Hmmm....

Well, nonetheless, I hope he does indeed get this idea of his off the ground, it could be a great thing for kickboxing....maybe even build the tv audiences up so that pro fighters all over can maybe enjoy the same paydays that pro boxers do.

If I could make 10,000+ a fight... life would be good.

And yeah, his idea is really good. I wonder if it's going to branch into Canada...
He said all of the continents, but if the U.S.A is already representing north america, ... laaaame
