  • Muay Thai dvds

Has anyone here seen or own any of Rob Kaman's or Maurice Smith muay thai instructionals? They're selling them at www.centuryfitness.com for $9.99 a dvd so I was just wondering about their worth.

Duane "Bang" Ludwig series is on sale at century too for $9.99 a video, the dvds are $29.99, I've heard good things about his series. If anyone has see them, give a review of them.

I heard Kaman's are good, but repetitive. Is there anything that stands out on his instructionals, like his footwork, kicks, boxing, clinch or knees.

Yes. They are repetitive...but the clinchwork is good. Nice tosses and not jsut standard stuff although he starts there.

I would recommend Master Sken's latest DVD.

I've download the full first DVD of Kamens and i think it's great. He goes into detail on the proper way of throwing a punch and a kick. Although, the video doesn't really go into what the proper stance is since it's only shown from one angle...I haven't gotten the other vids fully dl yet (kicks and counters, clinching and knees) but so far they look pretty good..

I did however buy Saekson's video from Amazon and he goes into depth of how stance work is to be....It's pretty good as well you should check it out!

                  Muay Thai in Thailand DVD

I liked "Muay Thai in Thailand". It was filmed in Thailand and explains the culture of the style. I think Amazon sells it.

                    Rob Kaman

I have this set of Videos. I would recomend them.
Kepp in mind they are not so much Thai Boxing, as Dutch Style.
He's got a very well put together video series.
It' kind of redundant of you train at a club with a good coach, but there
are some pretty nice well explained stuff in there.
                    Cheers mate

Speaking of dvds, has anyone ever seen any of the muay thai ring wars series dvds at century fitness, there's like 23 of them. I'm wondering because they're $9.99 each and I want to see some good authentic muay thai fights on dvd for cheap.

Cobb35, what makes Kaman's tapes more dutch kickboxing than muay thai, from what I've seen of some Dutch fighters that tend to neglect the clinch and use more hands with their kicks would this be accurate of your statement in regards to being dutch kickboxing.
