I have "Dreamchasers" both on tape and DVD. I'll have to rewatch it because I don't remember that technique..... But Greg Nelson teaches really good clinchwork, so I'm confident that I'll like it.
I've actually not seen the '3 pulls, then knee' technique. I've learned to jerk people around by thier necks/arms/bodies to create the opening, but I've never been taught, seen, or even heard of it (until just now, that is)
Does anyone have a link to a video? I'd like to see it. If it works, I'll teach it to my students/fighters....
I don't think there is anything special about the technique -
First the player gets inside position with gloves on the crown of the opponents head.
Second, his uses the leverage of that position to bend the opponents neck and draw the opponents chin down to his chest.
Third, the player backs his body away from the opponent as if to set up a straight knee, but instead jerks the opponents head forward and down.
If the player can get the opponent bent over at the waist in this fasion, the opponent has little recourse except to plant his fists on the players hips order to defend knees, and struggle.
The thing is, though, that the technique isn't particularly useful in any situation except a clean inside position.
