the distance is so close, i cant figure out what types of blocks to use eg. you cant use your downward palms to block against a knee coz its so powerful, it would break your wrist. and elbows are too close, you cant even raise your hands to block them right? as for the clinch, what do you do? return a clinch for clinch?

if your on the bottom of a clinch - opponent has the more controlling stance/hold- and their going for knees to the chest-stomach-solar plexus (spell??) then you can hold our your arms parrallel to each other so his knees hit your forearms..
also if there going for knees to your sides.. put your elbows in the way of their on-comming knee. they wont want to knee you again after your elbow connects with their knee.
if you want you can try to get a better position in the clinch and then place one leg across their hip-upper leg area. if done correctly this stops them from being able to knee you at all.
hopefull this all makes sence!

I forget the title of the thread, it has something to do with defending knees against someone who is taller. I posted a pictoral guide of clinch/knee defenses.
When you add elbows, it changes a lot of things, but a few of the ones already posted will suffice.
