  • Starchy Knuckles?

Yeah... so my knuckles feel extremly weird. If you've ever mixed together cornstarch and water, you get rouphly the same feeling. Anyway, this is between the skin and the knuckles. Yesterday I was doing a lot of drills that were hard on my knuckles because:
    1. My gloves suck.
    2. My hands weren't wrapped up.

Anyway, so this starchy feeling is bothering the hell out of me, I just want to know why it's here, and how long it lasts -- Also if it's common? Because I've never felt this before.

I used to often do knuckle pushups, lightly hit walls and hit the bag with no wraps or gloves, but Ive never had such a feeling. My knuckles were red for a while, and the skin got really thick but no cornstarchy knuckles. I suggest you see a doctor.

yeah, i mean i've had red knuckles before, but it's different this time. I'll give it a day or two, if they're still like this, I'll goto a doctor.

sounds like dead skin sloughing off, try aloe vera raw from the plant if u can get it. plus new gloves might help

that can be it i guess. I mean i can push the skin in a direction, and whatever is underneath the skin will hold it there. It's cool.. but scary.

well sounds interesting. Without seeing it it's hard to say. I can give you a few ideas.

First though does it feel like it in that hand or when you touch it with the other hand?

If it is the same hand that feels this way, it may be some nerve damage. When I damaged the nerve in my face it made my face feel like plastic a very wierd sensation that lasted about 6 months.

If it is when touched I can offer a few other ideas.

One, scar tissue has built up, Then you may be getting some bleeding underneith causing it to feel that way.

            substantial bruising.

            Swelling.

That's the best I can do without seeing it. Probably should get it looked at by a doctor.

A tad late, i know. But last year i had something similar, it didn't come up as a result of punching though, so im not sure if its related. Basically my skin felt similar to how you described (if im imagining it right), and it started to peel off all around my hand. It eventually went away by itself after a week or two, but it was gross as hell.

Could have been a fungal thing from your hands soaking in sweat in your old dirty gloves with no wraps
