Coban Lookchaomaesithong was Lao I believe, the art of "Khmer boxing" was the ancestor of Muay Thai and Bando, the Temple Bayon has Bas-relief carvings of a boxer receiving blessings which pre-date anything known.
I cant seem to find a good picture of them online though. "Khmer boxing" is enjoying a revival at present, after almost disapering under the reign of Pol Pot.

Issan, though now in Thailand, used to be part of Laos. The people there speak Laos and as most of the top Muay Thai boxers are Issan guys (contentious, I know) Muay Laos is everywhere.
Eh Pho Thong is probably the most famous Khmer boxer. Have a google using his name.
