What is the most effective kicking art?

    -Capoeira
    -Kickboxing
    -Muay thai
    -Savate
    -Taewondo

    And why?

Well I think capoeira, cause it has a advantage on the ground n it can easily hit the mid-section n the head.

    tkd is flashy
    capoeira is even more so
    kickboxing is bastardized karate
savate has good low line kicking, and is even better with hard toed shoes
muay thai offers the most practical and powerful kicks
and...sikaran is also great of breaking down the base...that and some modified wing chun kicking that you find in Jun Fan is cool.

A mix is good, whatever suits your body type, reasons for training, and all that jazz.

Muay thai is more practical. However the unflashy and normal TKD kicks are very good when used by TKD guys cause of their leg strength. The only one Id say is bad is capoeria because its just not practical for streets.

OK, but I'm not asking who would win. I'm asking whose kicking art is most effective?

Yes, but what do you mean by effective? I would of assumed the same thign as the other two guys, meaning that u were asking about the street or competition.

As a matter of fact, what else could u be askign about? Which kicks r more effective for form competitions? flashiness? Television shows?

Capoira is the worst in terms of fighting, im almost guranteeing that if would lose in a fight.

TKD has some very functional kicks.

I would say Muay Thai kicks are most effective since proper training of your leg can really devastate someone if u connect with it. However, the downfall is that if u miss, you're open for takedowns etc..

Srry thats what I meant, didnt read his post right, cause I was little dizzy. I meant to write. It doesnt matter if you havent seen a capoeira fighter in UFC it doesnt mean they are not effective.

Well how else do we know if the kicks are any good? The kick could look good but it could also leave you open to a wide array of counters and takedowns. That is why people don't kick high unless the opportunity presents itself. Cause a Wrongly thrown kick can make you lose balance and that is a bad thing in a match or on the street.

If you talk about outside of competetion, then in that case can i suggest soccer kicks? I mean some pro players can kick the ball from one end to the other. That must be a sign of power and a good kick right? Or how about their bicycle kicks? Those are beautiful and how some power to them too. Or their mid-air volley kicks? Is Roberto Carlos a good kicker? He can kick a ball that rips the net in the goal. Not many MT OR TKD people can do that.

Sick and tired of redundant threads (retreads) and people still taking your bait.
